the combat isnt as mmo styled as it looks. It still has a lot of the same concepts and combos routing that youd see in a normal guilty gear titles. they even have roman cancels. Theres just also an RTS side happening along side it. game is honestly pretty fun and while not perfect, deserves more credit than it gets. theres not many games like it

I've always said that there should be a spiritual successor to this, but seeing the high level gameplay of micro'ing your units while in mid combo (both receiving and giving), I don't think your average modern gamer is smart enough for a game like this. Good show man.

Playing against players who force you to pay attention to everything is really tricky, sometimes it can be quite overwhelming when so much is happening at once. The game isn't ultra fast paced like the 2D fighters though so it's very manageable with some experience.

At first i thought “what the hell is this” and then i saw sin and realized its a guilty gear spin off

Actually this is the story sequel to Guilty Gear X. Due to a licensing mess, Daisuke didn't have full control over the story he wanted to tell, and while he had this game in mind as a true sequel to the GGX storyline, the fighting game continued on their own. GG Xrd would manage to clean the continuity issues brought by GGXX and GG2 Overture existing at the same time.
