As i'm a regular user of Superior Drummer 3 it would be awesome to have a map in GGD like that. So that i can use the grooves from Superior Drummer in GGD without having to move all the drumhits around.

Has anyone else had a problem with drum mapping? When using programmed drums, there's only sound when the inspector track is set to No Drum Map, and the settings in Invasion is set to Invasion.

After loading up Modern & Massive for the first time, I was able to get the kit sounds to work in Cubase drum editor but every time I re-label them, I can’t get the names of the drums to stay (even after saving the drum map). Any thoughts? I’ve watched this video a dozen times and it is still not working for me. For some reason, all of the drum names revert back to their default names and all of the sounds are scattered. Is there something else I could try?

Thank you very much for this. It's been driving me mad trying to get my Alesis Crimson Mesh kit to work properly. I knew about drum maps and I've been trying to get them to work but, on all the websites I've looked (including Steinberg's) nowhere, until in the first minutes of your's, does it say to activate drum maps for the track!!!! I still have a problem with Alesis's terrible HiHat MIDI implementation but at least I can now reprogram the kit to GM standards. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!

After making my own map I cannot use the GGD Midi groove packs properly . Is there a workaround for this . I can play my E drums but I can't use the midi grooves. Can someone help me PLS !

I wish there was an easier way to use midi drums. I find it so fiddly with tiny little midi notes everywhere. Wish ggd came with a big, clear midi map screen with grooves ready to drop in down the side, I would buy it if it did! They are the old version of the HD 800. You can find a used set of cans for a little under a grand if you hunt the forums. The revision, HD 800S is available new for $1400 on sale right now. They are very wide and have great detail, but they are not my favorite for general listening. They get pretty fatiguing. Unless you have deep pockets, I would not suggest getting into HIFI Audiophile Headphones. It is an expensive hobby, as you also need to have a pretty good AMP and DAC stack for higher end headphones. To get a good HD 800S setup, you will be spending like $2000, if you buy them when they are on sale. You can buy something like the Hifiman Sundaras and a good entry amp for around $650 total, or you can get a good HD6xx setup for as low as $400 with an entry DAC/AMP. The issue is that you will never be satisfied, and you will be spending like 700 on some Elex or LCD-2Cs. Then you will want a better AMP/DAC setup. Then you will want a $1k headphone to see what it sounds like, and then you'll want another... Then you'll want some quality IEMs and a Mobile Amp... And it continues until you stay broke!!!

Does anybody know if Reaper allows for sorting midi notes like in Cubase? I'd like to keep my mappings the way they are (kick=36, snare=38, etc) but I love the visual work flow of being able to have kick at the top, then snare underneath, then toms, then cymbals.

PLEASE HELP: I have everything mapped using Cubase's default range for GM (C1 - C#3) , and have no audio when clicking around the Piano Roll or Drum Editor. Even if I program hits, there's no audio coming out of Cubase or Kontakt. Only when I click in Kontakt do I get audio. I have audio in Kontakt itself so I know something is wrong. I have 100% of the outputs ACTIVATED as well. Meaning when I click pieces of the kit on GGD in Kontakt, the faders show I'm getting output in Kontakt and Cubase properly. Drum Map settings in Cubase are also set properly to my liking. Anyone have this issue? ... and potentially have a fix for this? I've uninstalled Kontakt and re done outputs 3 times and managed to get this far now with my errors. Quitting and saving each time helped, but I can't seem to get past this point.

I followed all the steps, but once I set the GM on Cubase, I dont have any sound for any drums within Cubase (when it shows Misha clicking through the setup you can obviously hear the drums). Anything I am doing wrong here? Any help would be more than appreciated!

I did all of this but when I open a new project, the mapping is gone. I open the original project where I mapped it and it's there...what's the dill? How do I make the mapping available for every new project. Super lame if I have to remap every time I open a new project. Can you help?

Just Saiyan. Been following you since the old Bulb FF remakes. I really got into you with your light demo, and knew something special was there. Took forever for you to finally get a band, and get an album out... but look at you now! It is really cool to see people doing their own side projects, and ultimately seeing them find success. Now when are we going to get a Juggernaut sequel album? Both of those albums were catchy in the most amazing way possible.

Alright so I made a rack that basically changes the midi editor in Ableton to a drum editor mapped to match the GGD P:IV kit. It can also be adapted to other GGD libraries with minimal adjustments. don't 1:01 "I'm just gonna set this to omni"... means look for the "i" icon press it to pull up menu that has "omni" in it / do not know why "channel 10 works as well" ... not sure why channel 10 is referenced or what omni even is So, after this step, I cant hear any sound but see st.1 (?) volume bar is moving when hitting drum, but all drums are only operating on st.1 (?) Hey, Misha, Nolly, Matt and all the guys at GGD. I love your sound and want the knowledge you have. However, I am way behind the curve. I do not understand the sequence of events here... due to my Ignorance. Above is just an example, and I couldn't even get thru step 1 Basics. Could you make a video like this one but "fill in the Blanks" ?... as if you were speaking to an illiterate Barbarian. Because that is just about the size of it. I can get it when its spoon fed. I have Purchased One Kit Wonder and would love to get Invasion. I really want to record my ideas but get caught up in all these tech talks with very little understanding. So, by the time understanding dawns, creativity and desire to create has left the building and it takes days to weeks to get her back. Don't know if people sorted this or not, but what I did is make a copy like Misha says, complete the drum map as he does, then click save, title it with the name of the kit, and click OK. That way if it doesn't load up properly next time just go to drum map settings, click on functions, then load, and load the drum map in that you saved. Works for me 👍
