I remember playing the demo of this, my favorite part is when a character (don't remember their name) locks you in a cryogenic tank and you sleep for a long time. Ehen you wake up pretty much everyone is dead except the character that lock you in cryogenic and they get mad at you, saying you should have woken up earlier or something dumb like that.

I played the demo and I basically listed off the red flags of it being a mediocre game - the 'Loot chests' after fights were tedious. The characters were boring. The story/cutscenes were boring, I skipped everything. Knowing all of that, the only factor it clings onto is the fact its a game born to be a 'Loot and Collectathon / get better DPS and rely on RNG for drops' - Could that be addicting like any game before it like Destiny? Sure - but will people keep coming back? Idunno, why? It could all get ironed out but as a person who grew up with Diablo, what bugged me at the Loot and Gameplay level was just it was a Combat style that's been done to death and done by superior titles like Mass Effect 2 and 3. The fact that Arenas have Treasure Boxes hidden in the arenas that you can only access after a fight means every fight you must look for those loot boxes and it breaks the flow of gameplay just to 'ensure you find each item'. With the demo, I found myself skipping everything while just saying: "Let me play the game, let me get back to the next moment where I play the game and get to shoot enemies and find loot". Those moments ended Very quickly and were inbetween many boring quests and cutscenes that I'm wagering no one cares for - probably a waste of funding. Ehn, the demo was all I needed to play to know that I should just save my money for Diablo 2's Remake. Best to only have one game to sink your time and teeth into.

3:15 eh, the swearing kinda makes sense since they're soldiers. idk about modern soldiers, but back in WWI and WWII profanity was so commonplace that its absence was actually used to convey urgency rather than its presence.

They actually said in an interview why they added the cutscenes like that. Basically their testing group all complained about being confused when the screen went black and came back after the loading and they "didnt know where they were" so it was added to prevent confusion So clearly they let blind gorillas test the game

My theory is that character of Jakub is a tribute to polish gangster movies from 90's. He drinks to much, smokes too much and use way too much profanity. He is dubbed by mr. Zbrojewicz, who played character called "Grucha" (Pear) in classic polish gangster-comedy movie "Boys don't cry". When you come back with a suitcase, Jakub comments something about digging his own grave, which is clear reference to one of final scenes in that movie. He also wears a sweater, and the story of this sweater... well, you wouldn't get it anyway :P

That's the real dilemma. I remember buying The Division in 2016 because a friend promised to help with my taxes. We played a few times, went into the Dark zone once and I was so bored that I uninstalled it that night and never touched any loiter shooter since. It's an entire genre that just bores me to death, with is kind of an accomplishment. But some poor fella worked their ass off and got burn-out from it to make something so aggressively bland.

“Doesn’t matter if you played 3 hours or 30 hours it plays the same” This is my issue with looter shooters, MMOs and similar “infinite progression” games today. They don’t really give you a real progression in terms of gameplay that justifies the amount of hours one spends playing. And the post release “content” is usually just reskins and generic new areas and not much more.. it’s lazy and adds so little. I think the only exception is Warframe, where it has currently so many different types of game systems and stuff that can feel new to actually explore that makes it refreshing to come back from time to time (it is also the only game where I’ve actually bought stuff with real money to support them).

Cyberpunk Nerd complete lack of creativity. I find that some games have a distinctly "corporate", soulless feel to t hem, and this is one of those. There are no quirks, the characters are just bland and identical to one another and entirely forgettable. When a game comes out that is different, it really stands out nowadays. this sadly is not one of them. The most creative part about this game were the little pieces of text lore you find lying around. Those actually read like they are written by someone with some talent and were actually interesting enough to make me read them through. But then the world itself is so bland and derivative that I lost interest.

Yeah well, if there is one genre where story and characters really do not matter much it is games that evolve around loot. You play the story once, but the main time you will spend killing and looting stuff. That being said, gameplay needs to be fun and loot needs to be exiting. Outriders has awesome gameplay imho, even tho NPCs AI is pretty generic...it still feels good. And the loot is awesome. Many possibilities to mod gear, upgrade stuff, craft or trade in materials etc. This game will provide me with 200-300 hours solid fun until I probably will get bored. Good enough for me tbh. ^^
