I really liked Ryetoast’s interpretation that Gregory was Afton’s main and preferred vessel and it wasn’t until Afton was uploaded into the pizzaplex at large that Gregory was freed. I also think Gregory resembling the crying child is intentional, not to imply he is a robot kid, but rather to show why he was picked by Afton. Vanessa already looks a lot like what we know about Elizabeth (Vanessa’s physical description in help wanted doesn’t even match her in SB, so afton could have made her dye her hair blonde or something similar to better resemble Elizabeth) so Gregory’s resemblance to the BV might have been just another case of Afton choosing a vessel that resembled his kid

Thinking about Glitchtrap possessing both Vannesa and Gregory kinda implies that this virus simply just forced their fashion sense to be more like the Afton family (Vannesa went from rainbow hair to blond and maybe green contacts) that hidden conversation (don't recall from where) where she answers to Glitchtrap that she found one may imply that she found a random kid that looked the closest to the Crying Child (because yes, having a double that has nothing to do with you is a thing from what I can remember, maybe a reincarnation but I doubt it) and Glitchtrap made him wear double -stripes shirts.

There was a theory by ryetoast a while ago that Vannessa isn't Elizabeth afton in any way but the reason she's so similar is that glitchtrap has been obsessively shaping her into a replica of Elizabeth, hence the blonde hair rather than the rainbow hair and the personal files being messed with and the A last name and the Bill, I guess all Gregory's connections to crying child are irrelevant and that was also just glitchtrap gaslighting this kid into thinking he's his mega dead son

Personally I feel Gregory was directly controlled by Afton rather than Brainwashed like Vannessa, like full on possessed rather than brainwashed, it explains the amnesia angle, and most importantly a small thing people seem to forget, the Charlie room, I don’t think it’s a secret robot kid bunker, but instead Afton’s lair so he cannot look suspicious as a kid, he’s trying to basically learning to speak and write in proper English (Why else would the notes in the room start as binary.) and trying to think like an actual kid. Cause if he acts too off, his plans are over however when Glitchtrap uploaded himself into the Pizzaplex, he left Gregory’s body, leaving him confused and amnesiac, and Glitchtrap had to get Vanny to capture him either to kill Gregory or brainwash him. Honestly it creates an interesting parallel between our Main duo and the villians. Gregory and Glitchtrap are the brains while GRF and Vanny are the brawn.

I like this idea. Since the books and games seem to be rapidly combining into one entity, it's probably best for my mental health at this point to pick a "Gregory is Patient 46" explanation and stick with it, and I could never find one I clicked with until here. It's just that, in this case, it makes sense why Gregory has amnesia and doesn't seem to know damn near anything about Glitchtrap despite supposedly being a pawn of his at some point. Unlike Vanessa/Vanny, he is straight-up under Glitchtrap's complete control with no awareness of whatever the heck was happening out there for possibly a year or two. I have a small idea of how exactly Security Breach kicks off with this as a basis: Gregory breaks into the Pizzaplex (according to an Ask Reddit post a kid escaped a school on a Gordon Food Services truck, why can't Gregory pull off something similar?) and Glitchtrap has finally completed step one of his plan to commit more child murders. After getting into the mainframe he completely leaves Gregory's mind and body with the plan that he (Glitchtrap in this context) will take control of Vanny and kill the kid so he can't tell anybody anything. But WHOOPS, Gregory was conscious earlier than expected and got away before that could happen, but the boy did see Vanny in her rabbit suit. So now he HAD to die before any of this got out. Glitchtrap entering the systems also caused Glamrock Freddy to malfunction and go into Safe Mode, and since the digital rabbit had latched onto a part of his programming that was blocked by said failsafe, he can't take control of him directly (at least for now). Gregory finds a way to hide inside Freddy, and then the game kicks off fully. Gregory's confused as to how he got here and has noone to trust (especially since, as said in the video, it's implied he somehow offed his parents while under the mind control), so he's not thinking rationally at all which is how we get Monty, Roxy, and Chica shattered. It just fits so well while not demonizing Gregory himself (I don't like the idea that he's an evil mastermind behind the scenes even during the events of the game)

Something I really like about you and your videos is that you’re always looking for the most logical and straightforward answer without trying to make it a big narrative spectacle. I feel like too many times theories are pushed because they sound narratively nice but in reality the evidence is weak so this feels very refreshing (note: I don’t think anything is wrong with like headcanons).

So the interference effect is in fact relevant/important just not in the way all people was thinking, the more Vannie gets close to Gregory the more the glitch is entering on his mind or somthing, so when Vannie catches you you loose not becuase she kills him but becuase Afton took complete control of Gregory again, that is my theory

My biggest problem with Gregory being patient 46 is why? Why is a kid talking to a company therapist? If they aren't company therapists, how do they have company information, and why does the company have the tapes? I'm getting the feeling that Scott has a problem with not thinking things through all the way. Certainly the story itself has been piecemealed together with each new game, resulting in a Frankenstein's Monster of a story. But even within a single story, it feels like there are a lot of things thrown in because he thinks they're cool, without thinking about how it impacts the bigger picture, or what issues it brings up. (Which is the problem I have with Zack Snyder too - he puts in a shot without thinking what the implications are.)

Going back to the tapes after reading GGY lead me to an interesting thing I haven’t really seen people talk about yet. One of the main components of GGY is that Tony was supposed to write a fiction story, but chooses to write a non-fiction one instead. Gregory later edits this story, Turing it into a fantasy about GGY being a wizard’s favorite apprentice. This is likely him saying he’s Williams favorite. While I was listening to the tapes I caught something in tape 8: “Tragedy always leads to a feeling of loss, it’s a hole that feels funny, right?” “Yeah. So if you could process those feelings, how do you think it would effect your fantasies?” I always thought the use of the word fantasies was kinda weird here, but with the added context of GGY, I think this could mean if Greg could process his feelings, how would it effect springtrap and his control over him? I feel like this could be a plot point in the DLC as we take a more outsider perspective of Greg. Maybe as this new girl it might be our job to help Gregory break free form William, and that might be a way to do it. But idk lol. Sorry this might not make much sense, I’m definitely no expert theory crafter, but I lover your videos!

There was always something MISSING. Like there was just one piece missing that could explain or tie up a lot of the story. GGY was that missing piece. Before, everything was just speculation.

I personally believe that Freddy DID in fact have a... haywire miscommunication with GGY, but it effected BOTH of them, causing BOTH of them to be loosed from Glitchtraps control...however, remnants still remain a bit in Gregorys mind or subconscious, which responds to the virus that is VANNY, which is why whenever he sees Vanny and not Vanessa, his vision goes wonky. It's the remnants of glitchtrap being effected and perhaps even amplified a tad. It could also even explain how he still has enough tech savvy to work tech like he is able to in game and in some endings. That's just my two cents tho

That means Gregory Now I still feel like the biggest issue here is how, while I can see the clues being built up for Gregory being patient 46, it’s not enough for it to be possible without reading the book And idk man that’s something I really hate. Like why should I pay 40 bucks for a game a person may have bad experiences with, and then buy a lot of books to get a better understanding of the story when they could’ve included the stories in SB one way or another

I get why people think that, But the reason that it's obscured in the first place is that it's fun to talk about. It's fun to have the mystery. It causes discussion and whatever. To say "it needs to be said blatantly in the game" is to remove the mystery from the game. I think it was evident to find it within the narrative that was told to you to begin with. That you didn't really need all this extra junk to figure it out You just had to look at it. Ironically (with matpats example) without considering the books as the main source. The previous game established Mind control, This game has built off of it. I had the theory of "maybe Gregory played the Fazbear experience before the game" 20 minutes into playing it, and every detail lined up perfectly. You don't need the books, It's not written exclusively for the books. I don't even think it's poorly written. But yeah I guess if you don't pick up on it the books will inform you 🤷‍♀️ I just don't like how the fan base obsesses over these books and ignore what the games say. Even to the point of saying "MatPat is writing the story FOR Scott" and that "They are required"

And I’m not saying you can’t address every single thing, but I do think for something like fnaf SB, it’s risky to do that stuff to put lore in books while a lot of people who play fnaf SB hate the hell out of it It’s true that you don’t need the books, often times that is But I think the series needs better clarity because now people are thinking robot kids are basically gonna occur for fnaf like the gregbot stuff And if Scott can address the whole Micheal and Springtrap thing, I’m pretty sure it’s ok to at least let them know there’s some things like faz goo or the Charlie bots which don’t really exist in the story, or at least not yet

Also, I find everyone keeps saying possession and complete control a lot. And it really seems more like a hypnosis/ winter soldier situation situation. We hear vanny talk about glitch trap as if he's a palpatine style leader and she's his Darth Vader with the way she talks about getting the materials to make the suit versus how everyone seems to portray the possession as glitch trap slipping into their bodies and directly controling them. Like it seems more that he's pre-programmed them and is also giving them directions but not actually slipping into their bodies which would also explain why he really wanted his own burn trap body because otherwise he was just stuck in video games

If we assume that Glamrock Freddy is somehow connected to Micheal (wheter by possession or some kind of advanced mimic ai or something), could it be that the evidence of Matpad's Greggot theory actually applies to Glamrock Freddy/Micheal instead? At first i thought it wouldn't make sense for William to try to bring Micheal back to life (if we assume that Wiliam is the one behind the Pizzaplex in the form of glitchtrap, a mimic, both or whatever). But now that i think about it, it would probably make sense if William wanted to have some kinda of special control over him, hence why he's not giving him a human vessel like he is to CC and Elizabeth. Turning Michael into a robot could literally be William's way to dehumanize him. The stick-notes referencing happiest day could be a subtle way of reminding him of what he did, and maybe just like Vanessa seems to slip in and out of William's control, Glamrock Freddy may do that as well, but whether he remembers his (probable) past life or not, he could still somehow be affected by reminders of it. And who knows, maybe on his own twisted way, William still wants his eldest son around. Maybe I'm missing something that makes it imposible for this to be the case (keeping up with the lore is hard, specially with my fish memory), and maybe those notes refer to someone else (Charlie maybe? Mayhaps Henry is rebuilding her? Although why would he do that in the Pizzaplex, did he came back from the death also? am i mising something?). Or maybe the notes are a conversation between Charlie and GGY or Micheal. But hey, that's just a theory.

two things: first: i slightly disagree with the timeline placement for sb. I don't think the fred masquerade has teh year 2035 written on it. To me personally it looks like 20/5, with the five having a squiggly end that goes over the slash. But i know many only see 2035 so whatever. There are also two stories, namly submechanophobia and the storyteller, which both mention stuff that happend like 30 to 40 years back. in submechanophobia it was the water park that reopened in that story, so that would place it in 2005 assuming 2035. However, there werent any freddy locations open from 1993 to 2023. so that doesnt work ... maybe. it is not really owned by fazbear entertainment so it could be an offbrand park, but it is definetly intersting. the second thing is storyteller. i wont go into it too much, because spoilers and stuff, but the main character probably created a certain something after ffps. But that will probably be further clarified in the 6th book, so we will see about that. now lets come to the point (wow, that was a long prolouge that has nothing to do with what i am about to write): the pizzaplex was probably open for 5 years. i and many others assume this because of the faz life magazines in security breach. they release quarterly and we have up to edition 19 in security breach. so that would 4.75 years of magazines. This also ligns up with the plex being opened in may in the story under construction and security breach happening in march, based on the whiteboard in the daycare. this then would put ggy 2 years before sb with fnaf ar. fnaf ar is here, because at the end of the scrapped emails vanessa was transferred to security, aka the nightguard of the plex. this happened after the third therapist, which died a month before ggy. fnaf ar's scrapped emails also mentioned september as the time the delivery service happened so that would make it even more specific. now the second thing i wanted to mention: good video

My counterpoint: Not all stories are as relevant or canon. counterpoint to the magazines: there is a chance steel wool didn’t think super hard about magazine release schedules, but even if so then it’s about a year difference, and further proves SB floats around the same time chunk, Meaning it hasn’t been open for decades. This is even further supported by Vanessa still being fairly young, Meaning from the time of HW to SB not too much time could’ve passed.

the one problem w/ the 20/5 thing is that SB takes place in the United States, much like the rest of the series. Unless whoever dated the photo was from a country that uses Day/Month format, it wouldn't make sense to date it in that order, as there isn't a 20th month.

I just think that GGY is just the books telling us "hey remember the whole P46 thing in SB, yeah here is just a story with a similar context, nothing more". @@vbbrothers I don't think it's that out of place, seeing how Scott used the Fazbear Frights books to help us solve the mysterious of the original story. I remember that people didn't even know if Michael was the older or the younger brother, until the Fazbear Frights books beat us over the head with so many hints implying that Michael was the mean older brother that, in some stories, had things go inside his body, had his skin turn purple, and he likes to chew bubblegum by the way. It even had one story with a minor character named Michael that acted very robotic and was hyper focused on working/making money. (OK, we get it Scott! Older brother is the guy who got Scooped and is going around working at various Freddy's locations! lol)

Dr. Rabbit is basically the "Greg" character's nickname for a school project. The protagonist of the story is trying to find out who "GGY" is, the person who has unreasonably high scores on the arcade games in the Mega Pizzaplex. (You can actually see some of those GGY arcade scores in the actual Security Breach game.) Basically, it's implied that Gregory from Security Breach is the Greg/GGY/Dr. Rabbit character in the story. And, yes, I agree that they should show more in the actual games. Since Steel Wool can make 3D character models that actually look human (if a little cartoony), I think they should really do more direct storytelling with more cutscenes. (Or even do some more 8-bit minigames with story elements in it.) I think Scott should handle the cryptic stuff, but he should also tell the studio what scenes they should put in with more direct storytelling.

It's pretty simple. GGY is Gregory but compressed to three letters, it's displayed on arcades around the pizzaplex. And dr. Rabbit is Gregory's pen name that he uses with his friends at school.

Hot take: Charlie was the one who freed Gregory from an arcade game that we never see in the game Ik it's nuts but hear me out. If we consider that Cassidy is who we play as in PQ then Charlie doesn't sound that off. Because Gregory is a child he is easier to control by William for a longer time,meaning he isn't strong enough to free himself. Some of the writings in the post-it room sounds out of character to be even counted as CC and sounds a lot more sth Charlie would say so maybe CC and Charlie have been connected for some time via Gregory or a robot but that is like a SUPER STRETCH so i think it's worth mentioning. I believe this is more of a head canon it's not much but this is how i interprete the pre-game part of Gregory being freed from Afton's control. Gregory not remembering and character change can be related to being mind washed and Afton thought Gregory can start remembering what he did to him and do sth about it or tell sb (as well as he wanted to finish his plan/family put back together)so he sent Vanny to bring him back to the pizzaplex

There is one thing I see going against Gregory being this GGY person in that story: When people are putting down three letters for their names in arcade games, they usually use their initials. GGY could be literally anything. And the kid confirmed to be GGY who is named Greg could've just been named Greg by his parents. It doesn't have to be short for Gregory.
