I’m hoping we get an improvement in the writing for Portia soon. I loved Portia and the esme stuff is ruining the character for a lot of ppl I personally don’t subscribe to the idea that Ava is a better mother (I know that’s not what you’re saying). That’s dismissive of Portia raising Trina. But there’s clearly some strain and Portia needs to be the one to make things better.

@@nfgc86 I understand but I think Portia treats Trina like a little girl and yes Trina is still her baby, but babies grow up. Ava talks to her like a grown up and Trina earns her trust with Ava. Trina got her job by presenting herself to Ava in a business-like way. I do hope Portia and Trina can mend their relationship into a stronger one.

I have very layered feelings around how Trina is treated by her family…I think what doesn’t sit right with me is the idea that this is how Portia has always been. Clearly we’ve seen a shift in the writing around her and it’s made her unlikable. But for ppl(not you) to say that Ava has been more of a mother to Trina doesn’t sit right with me. I hate the way Portia is moving around this esme mess. But I’m not going to discount everything before this story. Because when I started watching again in 2021 I was impressed by how gh wrote Trina and Portia’s bond. I hope that they can mend this relationship too. And minute right right. Maybe it’ll be stronger with more honesty snd transparency.

Give Portia a chance every parent screws up somewhere like Saint Kevin did with Livvie and she drowned, Ava is only being a "mother" to Trina but not Avery (Who's got Carly) or Kiki. (Who has gone on to Terrorize Genoa City, and could return) She'll get it right one day, even Ryan turned into a real Dad when Esme was about to give birth. Portia just gotta adjust.

@@reygirl1 Again it took everyone else a long time or a loss to get it right too, she not no different. Lisel had to lose her children, Ava had to lose Kiki, Kevin had to lose Livvie, Laura almost lost Nik and Lulu, and Lucky, Scott almost lost Serena, with Cyrus out she probably got some thinking to do. I like that Portia is a person with flaws that can grow, also reminds me of when she played Whitney on Passions and how she treated her mother Eve, she was sanctimonious and judgemental in her youth on that show and you see the comeuppance soap opera speaking when Portia is getting a taste of it from Trina. If she would have been a token agree with her child just because character she wouldn't be on the show long.

As much as I hate that Kiki died, I’m glad that she is dead because this was a huge wake-up call for Ava’s bad deeds as a mother and made her realize that even though Ryan killed Kiki, Ava played a part in her death for constantly making her life living hell. Therefore, Ava has finally learned that she cannot treat Avery and Trina the same way that she treated Kiki. I’m glad that Ava transitioned from being a vindictive possessive mother, to a peer mentor to Trina. They have a really nice relationship and I love watching them together.

I really wish she was this kinda mother to kiki though I love the scenes between her trina I really wish the writers would bring kiki jerome back from the dead the done it with characters I would love for them to do kiki jerome is alive twist connected to cassadines or giffin saved her life I'm totally fine with recast kiki jerome that would be a great storyline for ava to find out kiki is alive.

To Keep it real I don't believe Kiki is dead and with her on Y&R it's a possibility that she won't be for long, I never brought that Ryan killed her he was acting too strange about it, normally he's all in about killing perhaps they struck a deal, Kiki was sick of Ava, Ryan wanted Ava to be free makes sense for her to fake her death. Griffin checked her body but he was too broken up to be a real doctor, makes sense to keep him out of the loop until later you know Ava can sniff out a lie easily. Also why did they not get a different doctor and not the dude connected to her who barley got his license back, Jordan had no way of knowing Monica called him then, she was getting married remember. Seems like everyone knows something but Ava, Franco, Griffin and Julian at times. It would also teach Ava a lesson with her meddling and fake death. Also Ryan ain't dead either dude had a bullet proof vest on and Mac shot him in the chest, no body checked his vitals they just stood over him. What if Ryan knows that Kiki is still alive and was going to take Ava to her? it's possible he kept talking about making up for something and trying to get Ava to leave town. Just saying.
