Spencer literally becomes another person when he’s around Trina. He becomes vulnerable, emotional and seeks her approval. He always checks his tone when he’s addressing her and sometimes he’s soft-spoken. He wants her to see the very best in him and he hates when she’s disappointed or hurt. It gives me hero vibes. He also smiles alot and shows more of his goofy care-free side. He’s loyal, fiercely protective, committed, and honest. He reminds me of Batman. Most people think Batman is the mask but the real mask is Bruce Wayne. When Spencer is in Bruce Wayne mode his walls are up, he feels like an outcast, he’s guarded, rich and entitled, arrogant, angry/or emotionless, calculating, but he also knows how to turn on the charm to get what he wants. In regards to BOTH dual-personalities, when Spencer is determined he struggles with how far he’s willing to go to get what he wants whether it be with good intentions or bad. Bruce Wayne also lost his parents at a young age. Spencer has gone through a similar trauma of losing his mother and recently his father so to speak, so that coupled with Esme being a dangerous wild card is probably why Spencer is so obsessed with getting custody of Ace. He may be projecting that hurt, abandonment, and distrust because he honestly feels like he is Ace’s best shot at a normal happy life. I feel like this explains why he needs that control because everything feels so out of his control when it comes to Ace’s guardianship. Just food for thought 💭

Spot on. I like the way you're thinking about this. And as soon as Spencer walked out shirtless (who can forget that moment) I said Wow...He's become Batman. But I didn't see how clear the connection was. And NAC's acting choices are fascinating to me as well. You can tell he delves deeply into who or what he's portraying.

@@lightuponlight6727 I love NAC’s acting too. I think I’m starting to understand why the writers are going in the direction they’re going in. I think it really highlights the emotional trauma that Spencer has experienced and why he does the things that he does. Maybe his obsession with Ace is less about revenge and less about Esme and more about rescuing the little boy inside Spencer. Maybe he wants to become the hero he wishes somebody would’ve been for him. And he wants to spare Ace from experiencing the pain he is now currently going through. Similar to how Batman is obsessed with saving the city of Gotham even to the detriment of his own love life. Same thing with Spencer. He honestly really feels like what he’s trying to do isn’t toxic at all but noble …even to the detriment of his relationship with Trina.

Ain’t all the compassion in the world, anyone who was drugged and set up to take the fall for crimes someone else committed wouldnt be feeling sorry for them. Chris and Dan need to stop making the victims and their loved ones prop Esme. It’s disturbing they think this is a good story beat to play. Between Trina, Laura, Cam and Liz (and others), Esme has been given an unearned pass. Trina and Cam in particular deserve better bc of how they were victimized….

When Trina said she felt sorry for Esme even Spencer grimaced. There's no way Trina wouldn't be having PTSD or flashbacks when that chick was around, regardless of whether she has her memory or not. I really want the GH writers to make that storyline right. Esme needs to face consequences for her actions. And it would be great if Trina could be apart of making that happen.

She’s been kidnapped twice, had a boyfriend die in front of her, been targeted by a jealous psychopath, etc..I’d love to see her have some character growth through real world means. It could make for some good story. And until the day Avery’s contract is up, I’m going to want esme to pay for what she did. I want the writers to see how triggering this story has been to a lot of viewers and how bad the optics are. My faith in that is slim that they’ll make it right, but I’ll try to be optimistic.

Spencer, you're not going to get Ace away from Esme. This is the one instance I didn't mind him bringing up Esme because it gave Trina the chance to tell him how she felt about the "happy family" look. And I'm glad Spencer squashed that thought immediately for her.

Yeah, our girl is an empath for sure which is why her mom groomed her into becoming a people pleaser and why up until Spencer entered her life Trina went along with whatever her mom wanted; and sacrificing her agency in the process. And that's what pisses Portia off because now that "little girl" she was able to control and manipulate is starting to disappear; and we can thank her ending up on the Haunted Star for that.Trina is growing up. So proud of her for not sitting on her feelings as she has done in the past. And also proud of Spencer for being aware that he was making the situation about him. Self awareness is something that is lacking in Portia. And she has audacity to question Spencer's content of character? And don't get me started on her weak logic. How the hell do you acknowledge that, Victor Cassadine the man responsible for kidnapping Spencer, his baby brother including your daughter, wanted to depopulate the world using deadly pathogen, almost ended the life of your daughter and the love of her life as the most evil, but you weren't worried that Spencer would become like him. I recently started re -watching old episodes with her "Mother" Heather Webber and the fact that she was institutionalized and when she came out she had no memory of what she did as well, only to find out she was faking amnesia. At time she also had a baby that was being raised by someone else and the woman ended up dead. I wonder what that letter Heather sent to Esme said. How to fake amnesia and what not to do like me

I'm glad that Trina expressed her feelings about seeing her boyfriend walk off looking like a family with his ex. Let's be real, my guy may have a trust fund, and he loves Ace (WE know) but this sl is kind of goofy when both Laura and Kevin are far more ready and experienced for an infant. I love seeing them together but I'd love to see their story revolve around them without Esme or Ace. Unless, it was something that had to do with exposing Esme and making her pay for her actual crimes...

I LOVE the (SUBTLE DIFFERENCES) at the beginning with Spencer. When he came around the corner, he was in 'BOSS MODE' - His VOICE was more amplified and direct; His POSTURE was straighter. The MINUTE the lab tech turned around and walked away.... It's as if Spencer 'became' another person. His VOICE IMMEDIATELY got Softer when he was talking to Trina about them sticking up for each other on the Haunted Star; His POSTURE slumped a bit; His FACIAL EXPRESSION changed and he was smiling; HE IMMEDIATELY turned to Trina with his ARMS OUT seeking 'Validation' from HER for what he had done.... Only for her to (slightly rebuff him) saying She "didn't NEED him to fight her battles". (Personally, I didn't care for that reaction on Trina's part - It made me cringe somewhat 😖👀). My Point is that THE LITTLE THINGS MEAN ALOT - Subtle nuances like these give SO MUCH depth to these characters.... But, SPENCER IN PARTICULAR !!! If NAC DOESN'T GET (ANOTHER DAYTIME EMMY) for his portrayal of Spencer; I'm gonna be PISSED !!! 😕😒

Love Spencer but I’m sick of this baby storyline and Esme being brought up in all of their conversations. I wish they would give Esme her memories back because I’m sick of this feel sorry for Esme BS. Make out in front of her or have her walk in on them confessing their love or being intimate. Esme’s biggest fear coming true just might be the ticket to getting her memories to come back.

I don’t know what the long game is with Esme but I’m so tried of hearing about her in these people’s mouths. New relationship and explored feelings is where we are at the moment. I’m glad they eventually spoke about their feelings a little to just hear how they are feeling but we can only go so long with Spencer staying in the same house with Esme until it starts to get disrespectful to Trina and their relationship. Laura opened her home, Alexis gives her a job, but Esme is so nasty with everyone and I think its about more than just fear of the Cassadines. There are Cassadines all over that town. Get over yourself already. She is so stink with everyone and she has nothing. She is playing everyone. They need to call her bluff, watch her leave and have an investigator follow her to see where she takes Ace. She's got to have a rescue somewhere to keep trying to leave. Someone get a lock of Ace's hair and get it tested already!

I don’t know about the rest of sprina fans but I’m beginning to feel like Spencer’s obsession with getting custody of ace is very strange normal older brothers are not this into getting custody of a younger sibling at his age even if the mother is crazy like esme. Also what is driving spencer to be this into his older brother is it because the writers are trying to some how make him the father his connection to ace appears to be more than that of just a older brother looking out for the younger brother. I sense Trina is starting to get worried about how and why spencer spends so much time of his days thinking up silly ways to become ace is guardian.

Spencer wants a relationship with his brother but he doesn’t want to be near Esme because of the damage she caused his girlfriend. Unfortunately, Esme has to be around but it would be even better if Nicholas came back. Take care
