Ghana's parliament voted to pass a controversial bill to severely restrict LGBTQ rights on Wednesday in a move condemned by activists. The bill still has to be validated by the president before becoming law, which observers believe is unlikely before a general election in December. Because we as humanity hold a collective responsibility for how we are treated (which is even explicitly enshrined at the UN), and Ghana is currently, voluntarily, targetedly destroying the lives of a chunk of its' own citizens, as well as making it impossible to ever end the HIV/AIDS crisis worldwide.

If it was parallel to Ghanaian culture one would not see the mass majority of every single ethnic nation within the country consistently and repeatedly rejecting same. They all recognize the assault being committed against Ghanaian agency to determine their own societal norms. An agency that is respected elsewhere such as Saudi, Qatar, Myanmar, Indonesia, Bangladesh…..what would make the west believe that Ghana or other Afrikan countries that share the same position and values would be any different?
