I have always been telling people from the diaspora to start investing in Kumasi before others begin to take advantage. Here are the reasons: 1. Kumasi is likely to be the largest city in Ghana and Ashanti is likely to be the largest Region(Province or State) in Ghana in a few years time both in terms of area and population. 2. Kumasi is the most affordable city in Ghana. The cost of living is the lowest in the country. Things in Kumasi are the cheapest in the country especially food and accommodation. 3. It's location makes it so easy to do business in any part of the Region and the country. It also has one large central business area where almost all your transactions can take place. 4. Land is easily acquired and cheaper than in all other cities in Ghana. It is also the cheapest city in terms of labour costs.

I love your information! I have been thinking about Kumasi for years now! What you've said is very inspiring. Honestly too, I must say that I visited Accra in 1998 and I much prefer Accra in 1998 than Accra in 2012. I had a great time, but the city didn't have quite the same level of hospitality that it had back in 1998. The people in Accra seemed a lot more "modernized" now, and I would like to see authentic Ghanaian (especially Ashanti) culture more. I am absolutely fascinated with the Yoruba, Ashanti, and Mende cultures (my three favorite cultures in Africa,) and would like to see much more, especially traditional Ashanti architecture - my favorite architecture in the world.

Manufacturing, manufacturing, manufacturing. People who are constructing roads, buildings and bridges need finished products: rebars, screws, nails, hinges, locks, doors, window pane glass, amongst others. Small engines are needed too. When will Africans start manufacturing their own cars and airplanes from scratch? Not forgetting sewer pipes, sewer processing plants, and water pipes. @ClydeWebb RoastedMe so do we do with all that food throw out yearly but go and import same tomato paste and likes from fake china? there is too much food wasted yearly in Ghana. Seasonally, food is in abundance like plantain and yams, farmers lose so much on those product and u can save them like rice. plantains ripen in 10 days then useless, yams are just there for 5 months then its gone and whatever u find in the market can only be bought by the rich. We have so many uses for the dehydrated stuff. in fact cassava has been dehydrated in Ghana for so long its a main dish. besides this will create employment as well. majority of Ghanaian are skinny because they walk a lot and the sun is not really forgiven lol

I love you brother, unfortunately Cassava is from Portugal and it's not indigenous to Africa. In fact it does more harm than good.
@rnrtv14 жыл бұрын
@Kish B. Yeah it's not indigenous to Africa. The Portuguese brought it to Africa and Cassava its acid. If you eat too much cassava, it can make men impotent and other health complications.

I plan to check either SA, Ghana or Senegal to build a home and invest and I understand the need for the diaspora to bring something to the table. But what if it's a retiree? Are they not welcome because they simply just want to repatriate and chill.

@@Ayimwaa...why such animosity? I'm a continental African and I don't understand your misplaced animosity. Did he take your girl friend? Lol. Anyway, you don't own Ghana...so he's free to build there, or any other African country.

The guy is side talking. They already have access to these people. They just don't want to pay what it's worth. What they want are folks to work for shit money. Everything that he is talking about is available, but they just don't want to pay. Listen to the American guy saying to ticket them without even knowing the system. The system is corrupt, not convoluting. You will lose it even faster.
