That looks like such a nice place to relax! I'm definitely gonna pay a visit when Japan opens. Thanks for showing us around Japan!

Such a beautiful place to visit. Lots of tradition and details in that ryokan. You'll never get bored looking at them. The food spread looks so delicious too. Local ingredients used is a huge plus that's the advantage of a huge country.
Don’t let the views discourage you, cause I LOVE this!!

Stunning ryokan. As you said, looks like you just went straight into the world of Spirited Away…and the details are so impressive as well 👏👏

I visited Shibu Onsen in 2016 and took a pic of that very onsen tomago stand. Such a relaxed, quaint place.

I wanted to book this Onsen! It looked like the one from spirited away but it was fully booked so we chose another. Btw, the tall hill that leads to the temple… it’s quite bizarre cos it appeared to be white when we looked at it but on camera, it’s reflected as green 🫣. Same with ur shot. No idea why We did the 9 public baths on the Shibu onsen town. It was fun🎉

how do you book this onsen hotel?

Visited and stayed for a night at this onsen resort back in 2018. Had fun with the "public onsen spree". Good spot for a half day visit to the nearby monkey hotspring.

We were at the Ryokan at niigata. We loved it. Unfortunately, we weren't able to converse with the owners as we weren't able to speak Japanese.. just curious are most ryokan's japanese speaking only?
@rurounigaijinn2 жыл бұрын
You might find a few ryokan in really popular areas (Hakone & Lake Kawaguchi) with English-speaking staff, other than that, I would say it's mostly Japanese. I did encounter a Taiwanese staff in Akiu Onsen in Sendai tho, and speaks Mandarin, naturally.

Mostly. Google translate is your best friend. Not the perfect translation sometimes, but when you show the translation to them, they could understand.

50,400 Yen for one night with breakfast and dinner for 2 pax + onsen, very value for money!
@marktan80742 жыл бұрын
Yes, agreed. Unlike expensive western hotels where you pay mainly for the room and perhaps a buffet breakfast, ryokan comes inclusive with elaborate dinner n breakfast plus the use of their hot springs. Once that is factored in, the price is quite value for money.

Hey Pamela! I’m fine now, back on the grind! Hope you’ll like the videos that are coming up!
Question: if a foreigner with tattoos is staying at a hotel in town, are they permitted in the public baths around town? Or will they need to stick to the private baths in the hotels?
Do you have to Shower everytime you go to a different 1? wont that dry out your skin?

Actually, a lot of things can happen behind camera! 😎 1. Maybe she doesn’t like soft boiled egg? 2. Maybe I just didn’t film getting an additional egg?
