You are bringing the KZbin channel name to life here. Literally the vibration of the road in this could shake the equipment apart. Look at what AV tr,ucks do. They use shock mount racks, foam padding, air ride suspensions.

Thanks for stopping, watching, and jumping into the conversation. I appreciate the tip. I make no excuses; this is all an experiment. I am going to give a lot of thought to your statement about vibration. As for now, I only travel occasionally. Possibly even that is too much. If you or anyone has more info about vibration affects on radio equipment, I appreciate hearing about it very much. See you out there. 73 de Bill

Mr. Trent! Thanks for stopping by and jumping in the conversation. I am glad, too! , lol. I was too relieve to feel stupid for forgetting something so basic. Had fun with the radio doing 250w in the park. Not all the time; I did 10w today in the park, but QRO is a nice change. See you out there. 73 de Bill

I like your Flex case. I am building a FT-710 case.

Dennis! Thanks for jumping in. I appreciate the support and the conversation. That case is just a basic 4u, Gator case. It has served me well. Both sides are open, and I have never had problems with overheating. In case I do, I have two, 12v fans to move the air. So far, so good. I hand carried the radio to Flex in Austin from Charlotte to have it worked on. It was never questioned as a carry on by the airline. I have taken that radio to Huntsville last year in the back of the pickup; some people thought I was crazy, but I had fun. Again, thanks for dropping by. See you out there. 73 de Bill

@@Bill-HRT I have a Gator Pro 3U case for my 710. Looks like there's some room for a VHF/UHF mobile and perhaps a 20A battery too. Kind of overkill since I don't move around much like you do, but since when did that stop hams? Keep releasing these videos, we love seeing into your nomad journey.

@@AD6DMDennis it’s not overkill if you have fun building it and it works for you.

Got your link from the Ham Radio 2.0 live the other night. Your project looks very interesting. When you cut down the space where the transceiver is are you leaving any room for future transceivers? Good luck.

Thanks for jumping in the conversation! I appreciate you stopping and watching. More radios . . . lol, I just don't know. I have a barrel full of qrp radios that I am fond of. I don't know if I will install more radios. As far as using this one day for field day and such, there is always space outside under the canopy and space at the dinette I am building. I'm glad you brought this up. It creeps into my mind from time to time. I guess all I can say is, "We'll see." See you out there. 73 de Bill
