After months of being smashed in side control you finally helped to bring me to the other side. I can’t thank you enough. The ghost escape is money in the bank. I can see why you made a whole system from it, it absolutely works... even when it fails I’m usually able to get to turtle even if I can’t get out quick enough. Thanks again Coach Brian.

OK This vid was awesome on so many levels but the highlight was jess... she was not playing around trying to make you look good on cam.. she was giving it .. and it made your escape and proof that it works that much more convincing. great vid.

This technique is harder than it looks. CP does make it look easy cause he's so good at it. I've tried it now 4-5 times (against Brown/black admittedly) with zero success. And having initiatialy watched the no gi version. This gi version is even harder cause it's a combo but I'm determined to get it. I'll report back when I'm hitting this!! Thanks CP.

Thanks for the video (again) I've been hitting it in no gi all the time but i got shut down a few times in gi. I just now had this problem and was thinking it didn't work in gi with all the grips and friction so perfect timing on the video too.
@pipody6 жыл бұрын
You can increase the control of the arm by grapping your own opposite gi. And if Darce doesn't work you can set up a sweep by rolling to the ouside while keeping close to opponenent.

I saw lot of ppl fighting bjj but I like that ppl that do it slow cos they know a lot of techniques and its awesome to see them when you think they are loosing but they escape so simple. It has happened to me to have them dominated and suddenly they make a little simple movement that changes the whole position and see them that escape and with them all my hope lol.

Coach Brain, I'm still not able to master this move well, somehow I truly believe in it. My struggle is that my opponent soon he feels the GHOST ESCAPE is coming, he shoves his knee on my belly (Knee on belly), or immediately mounts, then right after crosses to the chest with the same leg that mount or was on the belly, half way to the arm bar or triangle. Any suggestion? I'm your fan number one. From Mozambique, other side of the globe. OSS

Practice it without someone on top of you. Just get the basic movement fluid as fuck. Timing is key. If you fracture the move into little shitty movement your timing will be off and you get smashed again.

Henry is awesome... what did you fix?
@bencarson86856 жыл бұрын
"Crosside" control as taught in many schools and as shown in the above video is flawed as Henry explains. The flaw is threefold yet subtle. 1. Lack of application of attackers weight 2. The technique becomes strength dependent 3. By committing to this technique you effectively nullify your attacking options . The solution => By making slight modifications as Henry demonstrates in the vid link the effectiveness of the technique {crosside} increases dramatically, by addressing all three flaws. I would further argue that consequently the effectiveness of the "ghost escape" diminishes dramatically...
