Tobias isn't necessary a satanist, he simply hates organized religion, and nothing is sacred when one is an agnostic, plus he's having fun. Ghost IS a Satanic band... in the lore. But Tobias is not a known Satanist is how it should be said. And the only people who believe he is are Christians and Satanists. Because they need him to be to win some kind of argument in their head. In the grand scheme, the band IS a parody of Catholicism & power dynamics. To dismiss that is to dismiss what TF has said in many interviews. It is to dismiss the creator's voice in favor of yours. Also, you talked through the solo. Which I think makes you Lucifer.

Modern Satanism isn't actual belief in Satan. It's more along the lines of atheists who just accept the label given to them by Chirstians. Mix in a dash of politics in making sure to protect the first amendment and separation of church and state. To those points, a lot of Ghost songs do push talking points that you'd hear brought up by these Stanists. Especially when calling organized religion and leaders out on their BS over the years. I don't think Tobias himself is that far atheist (I think he said he still had faith to certain extents) but it's worth noting that on his last tour he had Twin Temple open for him who are unapologetically Satanist (as described in the first paragraph.) So what Ghost is doing is theater. But it's theater with purpose.

@@IRanOutOfPhrases Well, this reactor is definitely talking about Satanism as in a belief in Satan. And Tobias has said he is not an atheist. Also, TF took Mastodon on tour with him and some of those guys are right-wing asshats. Does that mean TF, a self professed progressive is? Or does that mean he likes their music and thought they'd draw in people to the shows?

@@jsavage71 Hm, I tried looking up mastadon's politics, but that google search is destroyed now due to the mastadon-twitter competition that was going on when Musk first took over Twitter, lol But I do see an article form 2020 on Blabbermouth that features a few members of Mastadon (the vocalist/drummer as well as the guitarist) being openly hateful towards Trump for being racist. Maybe the other two love him though? I don't know, that'd be a crazy dynamic though, lol But my comment does mention a whole lot more than just Twin Temple. (Also, sorry, I'm completely blanking on who TF is.)
