Ubisoft is probably kicking themselves for not making a Japanese Assassin’s Creed when they had the chance
@KillahMate4 жыл бұрын
Not really, I think. Ubisoft aren't dumb - a Japanese AC has probably been their most requested game over the last 10 years. But I recall that in some interview a Ubisoft producer said that they intentionally pick places and times that haven't been explored before, and there's like half a billion samurai games. For most if not all AC games, there isn't a single other game that's set in those times and places, and that's all intentional.

Yep that's also what I think , Japanese AC has been one of the most requested by the fans, now we have Ghost O.T. If they do a AC Japan I think they should do a Ninja setting which will be more appropriate to AC series and bring back the Stealthy/Assasinate missions.
@NeverduskX4 жыл бұрын

I imagine the birds, foxes, shrines, haikuu, and hot springs wore on you after so many hours Shelby, but for the one playing it was Christmas morning. What you are doing isn't even that compelling most of the time, but there is something about that open-world checklist that Tsushima really nails. The idea of not having to open your map every 2 sec to verify a waypoint helps you ride that consistent dopamine rush from seeing that golden bird fly by xD. It is incredibly easy to get. And the best part is that it is actually entertaining to obtain... I feel GoT's platinum is extremely well designed.

@@LucanoGaming hey... Not picking a fight with you or anything... shouldn't platinum trophies be hard earned? Call me old school, but i dont think they should be given out so easily. Look at something like the devil may cry series... You need to be godlike in that game to get a platinum. Or dark souls...you basically have to know the entire game inside out to get the platinum. Others can still enjoy these games and get a 10/10 experience from it but only the cream of the crop gets to hold the platinums. I think it is only fair. I don't mind that most satisfying platinums require grinding and multiple playthroughs(especially to get all the endings) because they would only be given to players who have seen and mastered everything that devs have put into the game. I think platinum trophies will lose their value if they are easily attainable.

I've even found Hol' Up a Minute as part of my vernacular with the same vocal inflection and tone. Hilarious! Keep up the great work, Matt and Shelby!

I very literally just got my platinum. *chef's kiss* muwah. One of the most beautiful and easily traversed open world game ever imo. Not once did riding the horse and going through the environments get tiring. It's story was awesome. Not quite at the jaw dropping level of story as LOU 2 for me. But man, what a fking experience. EDIT: Dude...i swear, I never get ANY bugs in any game ever...either I'm really lucky. Or I play the game exactly like they intended and nothing goes wrong lol

@@ohthreefiftyone LOL Literally. Laughing so hard I choked. But you weren't wrong with your initial assessment. While playing, I had a lot of thoughts on Hagakure, but, as someone reminded me, Hagakure wasn't even starting to be collected till more than five centuries later. It's a good game. It is not a historical accurate story in any way.

About that katana quote. Jin actually calls his sword "tachi", which was the sword design actually used during the first Mongol invasion. Having the term "katana" in the menu is just an appropriation, by my point of view, not a historical inaccuracy.
@ryanweible90904 жыл бұрын
yeah, tachi and katana referred to how they were held in your belt, a katana was put through your belt cutting edge up, tachi hang from a cord and looked like more western scabbards. and yeah, tachi date from a period starting in 900 ad, so well within the time frame.
@ErebosGR4 жыл бұрын
It looks like a katana, he holsters it like a katana (cutting edge up). It's a katana. The samurai armor is also more characteristic of the Sengoku period than the Kamakura period. Plus, iaijutsu (the quick-draw sword technique) wasn't established until the use of katana was adopted. The game is not supposed to be historical but more like a love letter to Akira Kurosawa's movies. That's why the game uses anachronistic movie tropes.

This game is everything i hoped for and more. It took me close to 50 hrs to get thru act 1. I played for over 12 hrs each time i played it. The combat manages to be so fun, despite not being advanced or anything. Still has plenty of challenge to it. And the world... my god. Its beautiful. Im not obsessed with japan like every one else, but this game is just so incredible. To me the distractions never get old. The audio is incredibly well done too. My sound bar has never sounded better!
