It's everything I hoped it would be on the PC, a must buy for anyone who loves Action and Adventure games. This is what AAA should be like, sure it has some of the crap like collectables but aside from that it's a great story, no box ticking, great hero, great villain, fun combat and an awesome open world to explore.

When we get there we talk to npc who gives us quest for later, or a quest where have to follow npc to quest. We come across enemy base where we can go in loud or stealth around. We find animal to follow. We find place to rest. We find rocks to climb. We find chasm to swing across. We have bombs to throw, a bow to shoot, a sword to swing. Nothing at all like ubisoft games.

@@phutureproof see this is what i'm talking. AC is a single franchise but taking places parallel to different historical events infused with mythology of respective era and region. Thus we get to experience different historical time in each game...how are they similar?. If you are saying the core mechanics of each games are similar then i would assume you also go around complaining about all looter-shooter, base building and modern FPS pvp games like battle field, call of duty, etc...?. I did not just list good games but games which had such lengthy gaming time and large world map equivalent to AC games to establish how i had more time to spend on them during my earlier days of gaming vs now being a adult i had to prioritize my other part of life over gaming. This does not mean i don't enjoy these game, i still love them but can't find time to enjoy them like i did in the past. This does not diminish the value of the game itself.

To answer your question Mack: I use a controller for games like this on PC because my job has me on mouse and keyboard all damn day. Using a mouse to play games for an extended period hurts my forearm and hand. Ill use an ergonomic mouse to play games like CK3 etc. so yes mouse and keyboard is better but not exactly comfortable to use all the time / for hours and hours.

Keyboards are terrible for 360 degree movements, not even analog keyboards can perform like an analog mini stick. A modern HOTAS with mini sticks can in theory perform better for 360 degree movements.

If you don't care about the multiplayer side of things or the Playstation overlay you can delete or rename the PSPC_SDK folder in %programdata%\Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc\ to get a 30-70% performance boost. I'm on 1660 Super and before deleting the folder the game ran at around 40fps on high settings. After deleting it the game now runs at around 65fps. This is before even turning FSR3 on...

Almost all games with good m&kb support play better with it in my opinion. The main reason being that you can control the camera and movement better. My brain gets all confused trying to rotate the camera one direction while moving another.

You asking what would I use controller on my PC? I have immediately multiple reasons: 1. when I work all day behind PC, my right hand with mouse is already tired from that position, sometimes it's more chill to play some singleplayer console port games like hogwarts legacy with xbox one controller. 2. I have my PC connected to TV as well via HDMI cable. Then it's matter of grabbing wireless controller. I never had Xbox nor playstation, always been PC gamer. These are the reasons sometimes it's worth playing with controller

Using a wireless, 65% keyboard (sits on my lap) and a wireless mouse (both connected via 2.4 dongles), I have no need for a controller. Works flawlessly, with 0 input lag. The mouse and keyboard I use for work are wired and different from the ones I have reserved for gaming. It truly makes a difference.

I wanted this game for so long, got it on the PS5 and must admit the first 3 or so hours were decent then after that it was hella repetitive. Enemies were generally the same looking and once you'd leveled up very easy to beat. I was quite disappointed in the end - and I really wanted it to be awesome.

​@@golnectr Well no they did not blackwash Japan. Yasuke was an actual "historical figure" who falls more into the realm of a mythical figure. He was introduced to the daimyo Oda Nobunaga who was fascinated by Yasuke, giving him a sword and making him a retainer and swordbearer for Nobunaga. It's debated if he was actually a Samurai as it was never mentioned in historical documentation. Also from my understand during the Sengoku period the term samurai wasn't actually used much compared to the later Edo Period. Well respected historians have also made points that suggest that Yasuke was a samurai but again it's still very unclear with these historians just assuming using the evidence at hand along with the time period in Japanese history. So yeah take that as you will. i think alot of people just wanted a famous Asian Samurai to play as and not someone with no much historical documentation. But at the same time by going for a historical figure like Yasuke with very little information about them it gives them more freedom to do whatever they want with him as a character without having to worry about breaking any historical events. Regardless using Yasuke does not blackwash Japan. He's been featured in other games as well including Nioh and Samurai Warriors 5 both Japanese game studios so it's nothing new.

i don't understand how this gameplay passes for anything. Its the same combat as every other 2008 clone, minus the novelty of interesting animations. The stealth is metal gear without the solid. Are you expected to play 8 hours before enough of a game gets unlocked? The graphics are stunning, the depth of field and effects genuinely look like they were captured through glass. But the narrative comes across as goofy when intercut between action set pieces and gameplay that undermine it. If the montage of empty story points wasn't goofy enough on its own.

Maybe I'm not judging it right, but based on the videos it seems like a highly generic game to me. You click-click-click to slay enemies, pick up generic low-effort items ("supplies", "predator hides"), pick up generic collectibles, then go somewhere else and click-click-click to slay more enemies and pick up more generic items and collectibles. Even the often criticized Death Stranding seems like a much more exciting game in comparison with significantly more nuance and unique-ish game mechanics.

Glad to know the mouse and keyboard controls work well for those who wanna play that way but I can't imagine myself playng a third person, melee combat, exploration, open world game sitting up on a desk clicking and mousing all over the place. I'm an aging PC gamer who now enjoys crashing on the couch with a HDMI runing all the way to my TV and controller whenever the game isn't a shooter or RTS. Vibrations and sounds on the dualsense are especially great on this game too. Does anybody know if the dualsense vibrations and sound work? as it does not on quite a few of sony's PC ports.

Not only do the basics work, but ALL the controller features work (as long as it's a wired connection) - right down to the controller speakers clanging with fighting. On both Dualsense and Dualshock. Resistance triggers also work as expected on Dualsense. Wirelessly, it's just the basics.

The benefit of caps lock and tab is , you can feel them where are they in the keyboard if someone would do the way you done it , they can't easily place there hands where they needed to be , and controller is better because it's more comfortable and actually give you more feedback

Runs great on a 4090 at 1440 with max settings. And since the game was built for a controller, it makes sense for people that want to use one. Especially when you use a dualsense controller. The haptics work better than any other PC game I've tried it on. For instance, you can feel the difference in weight between smaller characters and larger ones, based on their footsteps, during cutscenes.

My favorite SP game for the last few years by far. Love the era too! Used to watch old kung fu and ninja movies as a kid. I owned it on PS4, 100% it on PS5 w/ dlc, and fully intend to do it again on PC. Take my money!

If I had to guess, it's based on the historical samurai Yasuke, who was black. He was part of Nobunagas personal army of samurai. It's honestly sad that so few people know he even exists because based on historical text, he lived a fairly impressive life starting as a slave.

@firstchushingura While historians can't say for sure if he was a true samurai, there is evidence to suggest the possibility he was one. Metatron has done 2 videos on him that explain some of the reasons why it could be argued Yasuke was a samurai.

Loving this game. I remapped the crap out of the key bindings, have my own "unique" style (arrow keys, anyone?). It may be the most challenging game of this type I've played. Combat gets complex and it's fast paced. Worth the wait.

My fav ps1 game(well it tied with soulreaver 1) is tenchu stealth assassins. This gave me those vibes again when i played it on ps4. Now i whent back to pc gaming. I am glad it came to pc. Instant purchase.

It was my personal GOTY 2020, one of the best games last-gen and on PS5, and now on PC. Very little to dislike about this game. The expansion was pretty good too, just hope we get a sequel because the gameplay in combat was so engaging, need more ASAP.

I got it based on this review and I'm loving it. I am having a bug very often though where the game doesn't register my input during standoffs. Seems to be fixed by alt+tabbing out of the game and back in, but it does ruin the whole dramatic moment of the duel.

One of the few open world games I like (I generally am not a fan of open world games especially Ubisoft slop) but this one was something different, what a great game it was. I played this on the PS4 btw and it runs great there as well. Suckerpunch gave us a fantastic game. Super glad to see Nixxes delivered on the PC port and made it a worthy port for people to enjoy

I run 1440p ultra at 80-90fps with no upscaling or dynamic resolution on 7800x3d and 7800xt. Runs like butter with no stutters
