Robert Hardy is well known. He was in The Spy who came in from the Cold. He was also in a couple of the Harry Potter films and he was in the original TV production of All Creatures Great and Small.

I think he was in the 1971 TV miniseries "Elizabeth R", portraying Robert Dudley opposite Glenda Jackson's Queen Elizabeth I. 😀

Loved this series when it first came out. It was on BBC1 and after it finished we would switch over to BBC 2 for the classic Horror Double Bill. It was called Dracula, Frankenstein and Friends and consisted of screenings of classic horror movies from Universal and Hammer. I was seven and begged my parents to let me stay up late. I awaited a second series of this show but sadly it never came. Thank you for posting.

It was liking to a Shakespearean thriller. I can't wait to see more of them the music they play is familiar similar to a Boris Karloff thriller maybe, either way I hope you have more soon. Thank you so much

Another excellent serving of the outre. I'm in particular fond of atmospheric ghost stories and this was one. The ghost did look.otherworldly. Was it the lighting? And I liked that deplorable friend Regina. Thanks for your efforts.

Anyone else see a similarity in appearance and manner between Robert Hardy's Adrian Gaul and Lord Barkis Bittern, the baddie from Tim Burton's "Corpse Bride"? Looks like Burton was also a fan of this series. 😃

Seal was British, not Italian. She was born in Genoa, because her parents were British citizens in the service of Mussolini (British Fascists), but she grew up, lived and worked in the UK. Her parents were executed by hanging by the Italian communist partisants, together with Mussolini and his mistress.
