Me too. I was born in 1962, so I was one year old when this movie came out. The old movies are often the best, with wonderful acting, scenery, costumes, atmosphere... much more like a book! I can do without all the car chases, gratuitous violence, etc. The old ones are frequently so much more enjoyable. :)

Such a wonderful film!!! It seems like a lot of miniatures were used, but after seeing the characters walk through the scenes know that miniatures couldn't have been used. Great filmography here. I wonder if Svengoolie has covered this film on his show?

Blancheville was released on dvd with the excellent The Castle of the Living Dead (1964). It starred Christopher Lee and young Donald Sutherland (RIP) in 3 roles - including an old witch!

As a German child she was sent to Portugal during WW II for protection and got her start in the Spanish film industry. Was great at playing cruel matrons or evil queens.

This one later influenced the plot of the Spanish Film Anthrophagus or Graveyard of Terror. The idea of a deformed hidden family member that is dangerous. There is an older one where the family member is a giant frog! No menace there though. But the gothic notion of a mad family member in A hidden locked room is going on here.
