Welcome to the Enchanted, Ghost Ranch, the home of the artist, Georgia O'Keeffe in Abiquiu, New Mexico.
Ghost Ranch was the inspiration for many of her New Mexico Landscape paintings and images of animal skulls. You can spot many of the scenes that she painted, like the Pedernal! At Ghost Ranch you can visit for the day, or stay as long as you'd like. There are activities like, Hiking, Art, Workshops, Retreats, Horseback Riding, Yoga, Swimming, Tours, Art Welding, or you could simply set up an easel and paint the Georgia O'Keeffe Mountains. Journey with us down the road to Ghost Ranch, all while accompanied by music of the Native Flute. Abiquiu, home of my ancestors. Many never knew of O'Keeffe, but they did live there and created the village of Abiquiu. They lived a hard life as they toiled for survival from not only the elements, but from raids of Apaches, Utes, and Navajos. Many lived through the transition from Spanish, Mexican, and American governance. While today many with roots there deeper than topsoil continue to celebrate and live within the traditional ways, that will disappear as outside influences and the migration of the younger generation continue. So will Abiquiu home of my ancestors.

@@TheStarrShow It’s been around 10 years since I was there. I do NOT want to scare you off, but it’s pretty off the grid. The amenities can be off- putting to some people, but I LOVED the community feeling there. It isn’t a hotel or a resort- it’s a retreat. The nature and the wildlife is sublime, and National Geographic cannot capture the light on the rocks in that valley during the day, especially evening. I can go on and on. Go there. It’s worth it!!

It would be amazing to travel back to what it looked like when Georgia first arrived there! What a breathtaking location! I see that when she first went there it was a dude ranch. There was a main headquarters, I wonder if that became the main building/welcome center. It's wonderful that she was able to buy her own portion of Ghost Ranch and her home in Abiquiu.
