Man those buildings are cool. I can just hear the squeaky floorboards 😄

You show the town sign in the beginning of the video. It had the population of 100 crossed out and they added the new number above it. In 1966 they crossed out 99 to put 100. I was the 100th. I spent the first 4 years of my life there.

A couple of decades ago, a friend was married here and we stayed at the St. George hotel, they being married in the garden. An interesting place, made me a bit nervous as, nice as it is, a fire trap! The banisters only come up to a little over knee height and the verandas have a slight downward tilt; we were on the 3rd floor! Of course, we made good use of the bar that late afternoon and evening before the wedding, the next day.

How did I miss this episode? Glad I found now. I grew up in California and had never heard of this ghost town. Thank you.

A former nstive of Sacramento, several times. Once, was to go to the rock and mineral store to look for guitar picks made of stone. A fellow musician told me about this store. We saw this old building…not sure if it was open. An old timer greeted us and we looked around. I bought a beautiful white quartz(?) pick. This was over 35 years ago. I bought others online in later years but this one felt the best. But I stopped using it until this past week. And now it will be used constantly.

Best miners Trail ever. Under the sea of Ione. Ancient sea aminals. Whales, shark, in the parking lot, serpent, pyramids, and more on the miners trail. California was an island. Neighbors are the Indian Grinding Rock. Same faultline. Hydraulic mining un covered the ancient sea aminals. Black Chasm.
