I think we all know that Christopher's spine isn't doing too good, but has anybody actually thought about the reason GHOST chose to give him twisty abilities? Personally I think it's symbolism for how he lies to make himself out to be a good person. He twists the truth, and also his spine Edit: Could also be about how his "true" form is twisted. The way I've always seen it is that it's a visualization of how he's twisted in multiple ways despite him hiding it from his 'friends'. He twists the truth, he lies to his 'friends to get what he wants'. He's twisted-evil, wicked, cruel-so he's quite literally twisted. It's also why his true form is surrounded by mirrors. He's forced to look at his actual reflection and see the truth which is that he's quite monstrous. Both literally and behavior-wise.

I've come back to this song after a couple years and actually looking at the lyrics now that I'm older and wiser this feels like a story about how when someone who was abused finally fought back and the abuser used that against them to isolate them even further by telling people they hurt them badly before the true victim could tell the truth, which is some truly heinous abuse tactics that I've seen and dealt with before.

To me, it sounds like it's about abuse. Abusers often twist words and tell lies and half truths to get others to hate their victim when they try to leave. There were a few things I didn't get at first: 1. "Tears laced with cyanide flow through the cracks of a mirror shattered long ago" implies that he despises his true self and destroyed his reflection a long time ago 2. "A deplorable perception of me was none other than an image of you" means that he shifts the bad reflection(blame) onto others. He also says "a monster a monster run away I'm a monster now you're the monster a glimmer of betrayal changes my mind the odds against your favor forever" means that he punishes mirrors (by breaking them, effectively erasing the reflection from his mind) that reflect that he is a monster, and will never forgive them. 3. "Madness its madness oh it's sickening it's sickening how you distorted my reflection" means he wants to believe that this feeling is being caused by an evil mirror rather than the natural truth. It also means that that reflection is sickening to him. 4. After this, the part of the song where he was previously defending a good reflection of him (when he had his fingers up) had a static background symbolizing that he had no other defenses left. The backwards part then plays which means "your making a mess of broken glass and leaving me a f***ing mess bending light in a way that shows exactly how the story goes" that people seeing the bad part of him makes him break down because they made him see the reflection he shattered long ago ("broken glass") . He then turns into a monster says the mirrors are lying "whimsical dear your lies are clear" and instructs them to play his games because they have no choice other than to do so in his mind. This is his last line of defense before the screen has broken mirrors and a black screen and repeats the line "tears laced with cyanide flow through the cracks of a mirror shattered long ago" symbolizing that the reflection has truly came back again despite his best efforts. 5. The part that plays backwards is playing backwards because only now is he looking at the true reflection and things are backwards when you look in the mirror 6.the mirrors are likely metaphors for people in his life

Well, listening to this song like 7 times a day I realized that Crispy is not the only liar in the situation, the person he refers to the whole song also distorted the situation referred to in the song (a deplorable perception of me was none of other image of you), that is, neither of them is right, nothing prevents Crispy from being the victim of the situation and ended up losing his mind making him seem or becoming the villain, and the way he finds to regain his "righteousness" that he had.
