I love Egon, and McKenna Grace is perfect as Egon's granddaughter, Phoebe in Ghostbusters - Afterlife. She looks just like him with curly brown hair and the same glasses as Egon's. Harold Ramis plays Egon perfectly. It is almost as if he has a mild form of Asbergers Syndrome, especially in the first movie. He gets a bit more expressive in the second movie.

@@julietontheinternet6091 Fellow Ghostbusters fan and person with Asperger's here. I agree that Egon does show quite a few traits of having Asperger's Syndrome. Ironically, Harold Ramis prior to getting into comedy was once an orderly at a mental health ward of a hospital, so I would imagine that he likely worked with quite a few patients on the Autism spectrum. Erik Burnham, the writer of the Ghostbusters comic book series even mentions Egon might have Asperger's in the character introduction of each issue he wrote. Also, I noticed that, Dr. Ray Stantz (Dan Aykroyd) shows a number of traits across both movies, The Real Ghostbusters cartoon series and the 2009 video game. Since Dan Aykroyd has Asperger's Syndrome in real life, it would not surprise me that he decided to write and play the character as a person on the spectrum.

I just wanted to say because of sudden development from Disneys 2012 "Frankenweenie", of young Victors talk with Mr. Rzykruski when he's leaving the school, this strongly connects with Egon's pure understanding of Science, of the Emotional Effects, and to those who don't understand it, like back in part 1-Walter Peck demanding to shut down Protection Grib when Egon and Venkman warned him not. From this I hoping to put a book together of mine, hopefully, I will finish it, you see I formulate connecting patterns between Sci-Fi's, of their strongest connections that seem very similar to each other.
