Looks like they may have finally got it right! An original villain, a mix of old and new cast and a genuinely fun looking plot. It’s the first time I’ve seen a ghostbusters sequel advertised and could see them continuing a series of new fresh stories within the franchise rather than it be a long overdue sequel or unnecessary reboot.

Gozer and Vigo were both original villains. Bringing back Gozer in Afterlife made sense since it was about a family discovering their history so defeating the grandfather's main nemesis was fitting. While I would have liked to see Vigo return, maybe it's best he doesn't.

Afterlife was the wonderful reconnecting and send off for Egon we needed as fans. This looks like it goes into new, dare I say, animated series territory, and I cannot wait. Brings tears of nostalgia to these eyes every time.

Yeah, to me it seemed Afterlife wrapped up the original stuff and I loved how they said For Harold at the end of Egon's scene instead of just tacking it onto the credits. I'm glad we're transitioning immediately into original territory now that the new team is fully established. We had our fun making callbacks and homages with Afterlife, but the mistake too many remake/sequel films make is getting stuck retreading old ground and forgetting to make anything new. This trailer instantly shows us that won't be a problem. It's also nice that the old Ghostbusters are sticking around, but I think that after being mentored by them for a little while, the new team will be strong enough characters by the end of this movie to carry the franchise on their own. I'll never say no to having Ray, Winston, and Venkman around, but it feels comforting to know that they're just a bonus addition to an already strong cast, not a nostalgia crutch. Objectively speaking, the actors aren't going to be around forever, and it's good to know that when they, too, pass on, the franchise name will still be in good hands.

PERFECT! As a child, I always loved it whenever a new cartoon episode had a new ghost to hunt down. This one gives the same feeling of excitement for the new enemy. I love that the premise and stakes look dangerous. Great that Akroyd, Hudson and Murray are back (even if it’s probably for a few minutes). Buuuuut….I hope they don’t go away from the original concept of the “Laurel and Hardy” ghost catching routine which Akroyd has stated was the inspiration for the original film. You need hilarious comics to balance the horror to have an actual “Ghostbusters” film.

Im excited to see Peter, Winston and Ray back. As a huge GHOSTBUSTERS fan im really hoping this movie is as fun and good as AFTERLIFE was. The first part of the trailer on the beach looked kinda like a commercial for a cold refreshing soda coming to cool the people off during the summer to me. And the plot from the trailer (from what i could gather) seems like a plot from The Real Ghostbusters cartoon. Im still hoping to find out in this movie why GHOSTBUSTERS II wasn't mentioned in AFTERLIFE even though Jason Reitman said it was still canon. Like why wasn't the ECTO-1 not still the ECTO-1A, why didnt we see any GHOSTBUSTERS II jumpsuits in Egons locker, why was there no mention of what happened at the art museum.......... I need answers.

Just because it's canon doesn't mean it needs to be brought up. How do we know that wasn't the Ecto 1A with Ecto 1's plates on it? Afterlife was centered around the events of the first movie, so mentioning Vigo or anything from the second movie wouldn't have made sense. I never noticed that the jumpsuits were different in the second movie though.

Ecto 1-A is an entirely separate vehicle. Hence the different license plate number. Ecto 1 broke down in real life. Ecto 1-A literally is a 2nd vehicle both canonically and in the reality of making the movie.

Okay, this came out of nowhere, and I'm so pumped! I was worried that Afterlife was the final movie in the series, and boy am I glad to be wrong! Afterlife was a great movie, and I'm really happy that the series is taking its new direction this way. I'm also excited for the new villain, whoever they may be. The Frozen Empire. That's so badass. Add to it, that this Ecto-1 was also part of the original and Afterlife - they restored it before Afterlife, then applied movie magic to make it look old and tattered, so for this it will have been serviced and cleaned.

Ecto-1A rotted for years at Sony even after Ecto-1 was restored, it even was almost sent to the junkyard. But a fan petition saved it, it probably didn't take much to dress it up like a rotting Ecto-1 for Afterlife. It's even possible that parts were taken off of Ecto-1A to restore the original.

I love that they used old and new in afterlife and showing how the kids are following in their footsteps in a more organic passing of the torch. Newer fans may not have enjoyed afterlife as much as say my 44 yr old self, but seeing a proper passing of the torch gave me hope this is a successful franchise doing it right. Star wars and many others just take the old and tosses the history that made it a social phenomenon for cheap money grabs. Plus they got people who care for story in the movie.

I am ridiculously excited about this film. I really, really enjoyed Afterlife; the sets, ghosts and overall feel was so satisfying and I just cannot wait to see where the franchise goes next.
