For in Indonesia itself... Actually not only Pocong, but there are such as Kuntilanak, Tuyul, Genderuwo, Leak, and others All the ghosts that I described above are usually used for pesugihan or other evil things... Or ghosts like Kuntilanak might be like curious spirits or vengeful spirits... There are two types of Leak in Bali, namely white magic Leak and black magic Leak Leak itself can actually be obtained through descent or performing a ritual... Some of the ghosts I mentioned above have become urban legends in Indonesia... I guess...

As a Latino-American, La Illorna drowned her kids due to the man she was suppose to meet at Church never arrive to be wed. So, she is a "vengeful spirit" a.k.a an "Onryo", she is seeking for what wronged her and sadly, the man that done this to her passed away from unknown disease at the time. So, she is now a blood thirsty lesser demon that kills at sight to ease her anger and you can not eacape her grasp once she set her sights on you due to "cursing" you till you die in a short amount of time.

Banshee don't normally "do" anything to people. They lament outside your house. It's a sign that someone, not necessarily the listener, is about to die. Usually someone close to the listener. It is possible to take something of theirs, if they happen to be careless w/ anything they brought. However, it is quite unwise to take anything away from a Banshee. They are unbelievably strong and will trap you in your house and will be relentless and tireless in trying to get in. I don't know of any other misdeeds which would put someone in danger from a Banshee. Best to leave them alone.

I don't know My friend from Cambodia encountered ghosts. They lived in a rural area...just huts etc. Real poor. Dirt poor. One morning his father got up. As like everyone in the morning, he had to take care of his business. So he went to a bush and peed on it. Later he had started to have bad luck. Every thing he did was wrong. Things would break. He would lose stuff. Then he had bad dreams. Someone was very angry at him and would torment him Finally he asked why. They said he was very shameful and dishonored them. He asked what he did and they told him. He apologized, made a grave marking, and moved his hut. The new place for the hut wasn't too bad. They lived there awhile and things got better. No more bad luck. Maybe even good luck. But his wife would lose things or forget things. She had bad luck. Then she had bad dreams. It felt like someone was angry at her. Her hair would get pulled etc. And her husband started to have seductive dreams. But he would deny his seductress. In the daytime and nighttime, awake, he would sometimes see her. He could hear and feel her adoration. Finally he had to put an end to it. He firmly told her No. Eventually the activity ended. Meanwhile my friend, who was a very young boy at the time, had his own experiences. He played with his friends everyday. When they got hungry or the home needed food they would climb and get bananas. One day all the friends and him were in banana trees getting bananas. Suddenly the other friends stopped, except one, and were slowly climbing down. They were calling to the one friend, trying to keep his attention and get him to come down. But they wanted him to keep looking their way. He was looking over his shoulder at them. But they couldn't just say 'keep looking at us', because the moment he turned his head to face a normal direction, towards the bananas in front of him, he'd see the ghost the others all saw. Some of these ghosts like to scare people high in trees so that they fall and die.
