The 44.Magnum deserves more that this game, because its utterly useless 90% of the time. The maps are so wide open and the range is so poor and fire rate is so slow that your more likely to be dominated by machine gun fire. Dirty Harry would be sad.

Really? I figured it was going to be one of the most used secondaries because of its 1 shot kill ability and long 2 shot kill range. Although I haven't played this game yet....it honestly seems stupid and they've brought back Sitrep Pro with no counter still as well as the Type 95....both of them pissed me off enough in MW3, rather not waste my money just to experience Infinity Wards mistakes AGAIN.

because in earlier games weapons did less dmg lets say an assault rifle in BO2 does 25 damage and in Ghosts it does 40, that should explain some stuff :)

Just finished the operation which requires you to get 200 kills with the Magnum with Akimbo and Acog sight attached. It was surprisingly fun and refreshing to use these instead of the usual AR gameplay. The patch was just too funny to ignore in my opinion. My kd dropped fro 3.1 to 2.8 but it's worth the effort. The dog wearing 3D glasses and the text "I have no idea what I'm doing" made me smile! Definitively on of my favorites!

Use agility with akimbo, steady aim. Faster movement in walking allows you to strafe and fire. Better than muzzle brake.

This gun really needs a buff. Slow ads, mega slow rof, big hipfire box, only 6 bullets, 2 shot kill, the P226 trumps it in every stat except the magnums knife distance ohk and thats only to a small portion of the body so why not just lunge knife? At the very least bring the rof up a little bit, I would sacrifice its ohk just to shoot faster, full autos will melt you before you can get that second shot off.

It's a single action revolver it is supposed to be slow and a .44 mag is a huge round. The high damage makes up for the slow rof and you have to be close to be good with it usually. Like he said, high risk, high reward.

I use this with an acog in hardcore. Its actually great to use as a back up to an smg. Whenever I see a good spot to camp, I stop and pull this out and 1 shot people from across the map nearly.

I'm not surprised by the speed at which you can fire this pistol. If you look closely, you'll notice the character has to pull the hammer back with his (or now her) thumb before firing. Almost all previous pistols and revolvers are either double action (the pull of the trigger would also pull back the hammer) or semi automatic slide recocked (the action of the slide would recock the pistol). Also it seems like a valid way to balance powerful weapons.

The reason you die so quick in ghosts is the good hit detection. It is understandable that some people think you die quicker due to the poor hot detection in recent cods

It'd be cool if they brought back some of the classic weapons in future DLC, like the Desert Eagle in this case. Better yet, new levels in not just the multiplayer or the Extinction co-op, but also the single-player campaign featuring new factions, like Latin American Rebels and maybe China. The Latin American Rebels would be on America's side since they've grown none too fond of the new conformist system that is the Federation, and China would sorta be (granted at the risk of making it seem like another BO2) a "sometimes friends, sometimes foes" adversary of America as they might be working against America's interests still, but don't completely agree with the Federation's spread of influence, and at best, see them as a new potential business partner, at worst, feel threatened by them. Russia and Europe could serve as players too, but then it'd be like Modern Warfare's plot gets recycled all over again, and who really wants that?

I wonder why in the super-advanced era of Ghosts, an operator would manually cock his double action magnum revolver for EVERY shot. Not only did the .44 Magnum get a major ROF reduction, but it aims down slower too. Infinity Ward should have used a single action magnum revolver instead to justify that slow firing.

Legend Onyx Taco Nope, the ".44 Magnum" in Ghosts is based on the Taurus Raging Bull, which is a double action magnum revolver. The text on the barrel reads: "Roaring Wolf", which is obviously a renaming of Raging Bull. What's more is that in the campaign the .44 Mag fires in double action.

My favorite secondary. The first fps game i played was Battlefield Play4Free (on computer {yes, i know, it sucks.}) and i loved the desert eagle and mp-rex hand guns. Both took magnum ammo.. and, well, i guess i just grew to like all magnum guns, from snipers to secondaries.

I don't know about the magnum, but for the pump-action shotguns I've used, (and the burst-fire rifles I assume) there is oversampling compensation where you can press and hold the trigger shortly before the next round is ready, and as long as you're holding the button down it'll shoot as soon as it is ready. Drift0r mentioned something like this in BO2 about the burst rifles, but might apply to any non-full-auto weapon.

That's correct. Burst fire, pump action, semi-autos and bolt-actions will all "over sample" if you press the trigger too fast. For example, go try and shoot the 870MCS shotgun in Black Ops 2 fast, you'll actually shoot slower and it feels like your gun keeps jamming....always gets me killed when I started to panic because of bullshit hitmarkers lol

A strength this gun has as someone commented before is the knifing The magnum tac knife outclasses all knives including the combat knife in terms of recovery,kill time and distance...which makes the combat knife seem a bit underpowered I think the youtuber's name is HitGirl x who actually tested each knife to confirm

I like this COD, it reminds me of MW2, where EVERY gun was op, if used correctly. All were powerful in their own way. For example. ACR=High Accuracy/damage, Mini-Uzi=light and shoots quick, ump-45= powerful but shoots slower... etc. :D

The other day I used it with deadeye and muzzlebrake. It was pretty much a one shot kill but again that's provided that you could actually land the shot. I actually find the worst thing about this gun is the movement speed. It's so heavy that it's like I'm carrying a cannon that fires Lynx sniper rifles! Of course adding a second .44 through akimbo doesn't seem to slow me down anymore :P

Since you can get a barrel attachment on this gun and an acog, it could be a good pistol only gun. This gun is very accurate and has a lot of damage, so it is good for high risk marksman's. What I do in FFA is get the .44 magnum with suppressor (silencer, whatever) and all stealth perks except takedown, then I use a 9bang to flash enemies. I use any type of killstreak, so that doesn't really matter. This gun is good for a secondary in CQC, and it is good for stealthy, successful game plays. If you are accurate, this is perfect for you.

.....Why would you nerf the only thing it has going for it? The one shot kill is the only thing that makes it stand out from the other pistols....why would you lower that range? I say just use any other pistol if you want a suppressor.

You can do a private match on Stonehaven and find the longest lines of sight and get a 3 shot kill with the suppressed magnum
