All I can say about this man is He cared for his players, all of them! He was a player's coach that knew the times his black players were facing, he wasn't going to let them down, and instead built up their confidence that "Anything is Possible".. Great man and he coached some great players! He was everything Adolph Rupp was Not.

I was a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in El Paso. He is a great example for what all of us should be and is the greatest of El Pasoans.

Those that agreed with Adolph Rupp got what they deserved after Texas Western won that championship game. All of their racist ways ran into that thing called Karma.. I was recruited for years to play at Kentucky and always said "Hell No", I prefer to play for the coach who saw me as a player, not a black player, & instead whip Kentucky's azz at every opportunity given. There's still plenty of Adolph Rupp's in the world & they don't deserve my talents nor any of my kind. Like Sam Cooke sang "Change is Going to Come, Oh Yes it will"

Not drinking water isn't tough coaching, it's stupid coaching.
