The Galamsey is not affecting only the poor villagers living along the polluted river banks. The river meets the sea and transfers some of the poison to some of the sea food that you eat in Accra and that's not all. The poison also finds its way into some of the corn and other feeds that are grown along the polluted river banks eventually find its way to some of the poultry farms that produces the chickens, the goats and the sheep you eat in Accra .

Dentaa thanks for this important forum with Ms Thompson and I applaud her for her take on GALAMSEY and the enormity of destruction in terms of toxic chemical poisoning, like sodium cyanide , doing to the rivers, streams, species of fish and crustaceans and the animals in the wild and the community of people who live in areas affected by the galamsey. Cocoa and other farming lands have been destroyed just as people sources of drinking water all because of galamsey. How did we get here ? Yesterday the Chinese ambassador to Ghana ridiculed and insulted every Ghanaian from the presidency down to the village chief and his people are to be blamed and not the Chinese in the country. And he was right. Can any Ghanaian board a flight to China to mine for gold or do galamsey? Heck no ! Had the past presidents, prime minister, military rulers, kings, chiefs, queen mothers, local people and politicians engaged in such destructive behavior, l don’t think the current government and its predecessor would have inherited a country endowed with the beauty of its natural resources. Mr President, enough with the destruction galamsey has caused Ghana, it can’t be re-engineered or restructured. Please BAN GALAMSEY. Parliament do your part by passing a new legislation banning galamsey.

@ ODANA l think native English speakers to our country are always going to be reluctant to learn the language, it happens everywhere the English language is widely used .Americans in the Nederlands and the Scandinavian countries never learn the host languages because of wide use of English in these countries . Ghanaian is considered English speaking and rightly so. Learning the local languages will be an advantage but not a necessity for them . Why fix it when it’s not broken ?

Odana, you are very lovely. A lot of time when I use the word lovely I feel like people think it means something a little less than beautiful but the defintion for lovely is a beautiful woman, not a beaufitul child or a beautiful man but a beautiful woman. Not just a physically beautiful body but a beautiful soul inside the body that is beautiful. I know that it is not normal for women to complement other women because of jealousy unless they like women, if you know what I mean and I DO NOT if you know what i mean, I love me some Black men, one in particular. I think one woman's beauty doesn't take away from my beauty or make me less attachtive; just like an apple on a tree is not jealousy of another apples they all look the same without a close up look. GOD made so many beautiful women we must love, support, and encourage each other. If we could all do that the world would be so much happier. Take care my beautiful sister and I love your hair [it's looking perttier and healther all the time, just be patient the best is yet to come]. 💋🖤💌
