Welcome to the second episode of our 30 day journey to Kanchanjunga region. In our first episode, we explored Oktang Base Camp, passing through some treacherous trails (because the trekking season hadn't started yet).

We continue our trip from Tseram towards the North Base Camp of Kanchanjunga. It starts with a steep hike towards Selela and Mirgin La Pass, constant rain made it tougher. From Selele, we descend toward Ghunsa, meet Tshering and Family and stay at Peaceful Guest House. After a day of rest in Ghunsa, we go through beautiful forests to Khambachen, meet Nupu in his Kanchenjunga White House. Lhonak is our next stop, from there, Pangpema, the northern base camp is about 3 hours from here. Because of bad weather, we camp in the Base Camp for three days. The trek is actually doable in around 16-18 days but we spend a lot of time in Khambachen and Ghunsa. We have included our return journey because it is the normal route for trekking. People usually trek to North Base Camp and then head for South, we did the reverse.

Just found your channel. Your video has shown many untold scenes at Kanchenjunga trek. As a foreign trekker at senior ages, I had reached the southern base camp in 2017 but could not go further due to my weak strength and had to retreat back. I had not felt sorry at any moment for my incompleteness of northern base camp but enjoyed the greatness of nature at every moment during trekking. I am so glad that you guys have shown may details of places that I stayed but never explored fully. God blessed all of you, keep strong, safe and a happy 2022.

Aw... this 2nd part is so heart touching! Ups and downs, drone hiccups and that triumph in founding it; those very very kind and beautiful smiles of the Nepali mountain people; snow, and that kind of determination of 3 days was a feat to be cherished and remembered. Yes, sometimes, the mountain gods may be busy but there is always a reason one can only understand in time to come; after all, mountain don't run, time does! ;) friend feeling unwell, kindest help from dai, some little romance (haha) here and there, lots of brotherhood friendship and great camaraderie; excellent videographies, wonderful encounters with the Nature and wildlife, the solitude at snow mountaines; the feeling returning back to civilisation, and so much in this video!! thank you so much for sharing and well done Ghumante team! we'll wait until you guys feel the dejavu and Kanchejunga is calling! :P cheers. p.s. stay well during this crisis moments in the world. First Api and now Kanchanjunga! Thank you for bringing these places to us: places which have yet to be overrun with tourists. Places which most of us are not familiar with. Love the camera work, your respectful interactions with the locals, and the voice & presentation style of the narrator in the background (couldn't catch his name). Due to age (as well as certain medical conditions) I doubt I'll ever be able to do these strenuous high altitude trips. But your videos are the next best thing to actually going to those places. I spent half my day off with your video running on one screen, Google Pro (in 3D) on another, and Kanchanjunga area topographical map on yet another screen! I can honestly say, I gained more geographical knowledge in one afternoon than I ever did in all my school years. I hope geography teachers in school use videos like yours and Google Pro in class! It would really help people to have a much better understanding of the country of other people .
