I wish they would do like a modern-day axis and allies with modern tank and planes and heli's. Maybe even cruise missles, lol.

Happy that A&A tries new stuff! There are so much more wars to cover than WWII

Battle of the Bulge had some hex action going on, but I like how this uses hexes on land AND sea, instead of being primarily a land battle…. Also as much as I would love to get my hands on a copy of Bulge, it seems like the hardest one to find. This GI Joe version looks like a fun variant of A&A. :). Thanks!

Gary, what versions of A&A are right behind your right shoulder in this vid? Right next to cobra commander’s helmet? Spent way too much time trying to figure out what they are. Lmao Also, conquest of the empire is next on my wishlist of classic games to get. Would love to hear your thoughts on it and the other games in the Gamemaster Series from Milton Bradley.
@BoardGameNation4 ай бұрын
Haha! In the square next to Cobra Commander’s helmet is 1942.1, Revised, and Zombies. I actually haven't played Conquest of the Empire in decades. I picked up that complete copy in at a game swap for $50. I played Fortress America in the early 2000s, but I haven't played Boarder & Broadside. I did play Shogun about 10 years ago, but that one is coming back around. I hear someone is planning to remake it in the near future. Thanks for watching!

revised rulebook also had advice written in it
@BoardGameNation4 ай бұрын
Was it advice or just a ton of optional rules? I can't remember. Thanks for watching!
@sirundying4 ай бұрын
@@BoardGameNation theres optional rules at the end with national dvantages ( we used to play with them, 2 per allies power, 3 per axis power for 6 total on each side ). but what i mean is there was some global tips on how each country should play in the section that describe each country ( i went back to check to make sure, page 5 of revised ). today looking back at that, its all obvious stuff but when we were new players it did helped us a bit

Huh. I'll go back and check that out. Thanks!

I used to play Axis and Allies with my dad and brother back in the day and got excited when I first heard about this. I haven't played any of the newer (as in my copy is by Milton Bradley), smaller scale versions, so I don't know if this is standard now, but why is there a round limit?
@BoardGameNation3 ай бұрын
I wouldn't call the new GI Joe game the standard. In fact, crossing franchises is new experiment for Renegade. I would say that the current "standard" version is the 1942 Second Edition. Of all of the versions of A&A available now, that is the most similar to the 1984 classic game. Here is a link to the full how to play video for 1942.2: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f3zciJR5Zdulqq8 Have fun! Let us know if you have any questions about it. Thanks for watching!

@@BoardGameNation What I meant is, are round limits standard for the smaller theater games.
@BoardGameNation2 ай бұрын
@@NickRoberts-q6o - Ah. I wouldn't say standard, but they are common. It is better to say that the win conditions for the "local" games are very different from the main line games. GI Joe and North Africa both have turn limits, but Guadalcanal has a victory point goal.

I didn't like the chip representation on the page. They should have just put 2 grey or 1 green. Tokens are so thin really cardboard should be thicker.
@BoardGameNation4 ай бұрын
I noted that as well. I think they were trying to keep the cost down where they could. Seems they put the money into the sculpts and the map. Still, for $60, I think this is actually pretty good. Thanks for watching and subscribing!
