The big pill shaped attachment is a drop tank which carries additional fuel to extend range and can be dropped when empty to reduce weight.

Hopefully they will mix well with the Kre•O sets.

@Mighty-VizioN Ай бұрын
Unfortunately yes and no. Kre O sets fit better with Legos. Because these sets are basically created around the size of the minifigs. Mega construction minifigs are hell of a lot more detailed and slightly bigger. But you can alter the kre O sets to fit. Its just another brick based building system and their interchangeable.

Now that I think about it I took that Sergeant slaughter and the triple t tank by Kre O and converted it to fit MEGA figs. And it looks awesome. So I take back what I said previously😂

I really hope this isn't the only set in the line. Personally I would've preferred something like: Skystriker vs Rattler, HISS tank vs Vamp Jeep or HISS tank vs MOBAT tank. I think those would've been better pairings.

This is such fantastic news that I bought two of them. Even though they are overpriced based on megas pricing. 600 pieces equals $60. Mega's pricing has usually been 10 cents a piece. And they will give or take a few pieces. A 300 piece set would usually cost 30 bucks. 100 piece set would cost around $10.But when you get into the thousand pieces the prices go down. Castle grayskull was well over 3,000 pieces. But it cost less than $300. Snake mountain is well over 300 pieces and it also cost less than $300. This 600 piece GI Joe set should not cost $80. It should be around 60 or 65

$20 over the norm isn't bad. The wings, nose cone, tail fins, canopy, and maybe the gears for the mechanical sweep wings are big custom pieces. Just be glad lego isn't selling it💸😁

The original Hasbro 'blocks' line was pretty limited, didn't look particularly good, and weren't well sized for the figures that came with them. Hasbro appeared to have let it be a limited run that released entirely at once. I LOVE this pairing of licensing for Mattel and Hasbro. Hasbro doesn't have its own building block line and MEGA has done Call of Duty and Halo lines so they're *VERY* much accustomed to doing both military and futuristic/fantasy military vehicles. I really hope this sells well enough that Mattel is allowed to continue through at LEAST Hasbro's classic G.I. Joe line of vehicles, figures and buildings. MEGA did an incredible job with Masters of the Universe; I have all of it except for the San Diego Comic Con exclusive Battle Bones set and love it. Quick note: that's not a napalm bomb or bomb of any sort for the Sky Striker; that's the external/reserve fuel tank. The original Sky Striker toy had it as well.

To be honest, I am a fan of Kre-O. But Mattel Mega I would accept than this incompatible cheap 3rd party. Good for Mattel. Remember, Mattel’s Hot Wheels has Bumblebee and Optimus Prime already, and recently released 5 or 6 set of Transformers cars. So this is not the first toy crossover. I want to know what has Hasbro done of Mattel? Barbie? So we can finally get Return of Jem?

I have this theory ever since Hasbro handed Rangers to Playmates. I think we are going to get a licensed Hasbro Transformers Studio Series Unicron made by a smaller company like Super7. With the Xmen 97 version of the Sentinel getting a release, the release of Omega Prime ( a version of Optimus), I think we are going to get another Unicron. It's not going to break the Haslab rules of repeat releases, because it is a different version, just like the sentinel is a different version. They also stated Haslabs will never be an Optimus, but that's what Omega Prime is.

@@Mighty-VizioN That's most certainly because of the extra Hasbro tax. 😕 These collabs will always be more expensive than usual. Like the Hotwheels Optimus Prime from the last Spring. EDIT: You're basically paying two companies instead of just one.

A couple of years ago, I watched two detailed reviews of the G.I.Joe sets from 'Forever Clever' and the sub-par design (a.k.a. the build) of the models was by far not the only problem with the given products. Two other major problems were 1) the design of the individual bricks, plates and other parts, and 2) the quality of the plastic used for all the parts. 1) The tolerances were criminally off, which then resulted in a very poor clutch-power of the individual parts which, in turn, resulted in the final models' tendency to quite easily fall apart, even when gently moved around. You could rightaway forget about any 'rough play'; toys totally unsuitable for lively kids. 2) The plastic was so brittle that the reviewer was simply not able to prevent, ehm! , "accidents" from happening as he was building the sets. Meaning that, for example, corners of several plates chipped off. Furthermore, he also took several of the parts at random (including thick bricks), posed them against a light source, and you could then see faint light coming through the dark 'navy-blue-coloured' components. This would just never happen with a Lego brick or plate. I just do not know what Hasbro was thinking when they decided to source this specific licence to 'Forever Clever', an unknown D-list company amongst all the other legitimate toymakers engaging in brick-based construction sets. Did they, a multi-billion toymaker, intend to begin to (indirectly) produce super-cheap disposable 'rack toys'? If yes, then why did they proceed to use for this ill-conceived venture one of their historically most successful and most recognizable IPs? (sarcastically) In order to de-value it or what? 😀 + 😞 I still remember that when I watched the first review for the very first time, at the beginning of it I just did not want to believe that the toyline was really sanctioned by Hasbro themselves. I instead thought that those were some shady knock-offs from some unscrupulous 'would-be-company', plagiarizing on someone else's popular IP.

Forgot about Kre-o! Those budget G.I. Joe sets are really bad! The blocks feel soapy and don't stay together well. Minifigures were bad too. Kre-o had way better offerings for G.I. Joe. I've always liked the Minifigures that Mega offers versus Lego. But it's hard to come across Mega in stores. All I ever see is pokemon. I hope they do more then this first set. Hopefully a blind pack Minifigure wave happens.

We all ready have a pseudo GI Joe brand buy MEGA in the form of call of duty. AND IT IS ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS. I personally think mega is much better than Lego. The builds are a lot better and the figures blow Legos out the water. But Legos have been around forever and have a extremely positive name. And I hope this GI Joe brand goes on for a long time. And give us a lot more than they gave us with MOTU. I've been collecting mega construx for about 8 years now. And I have been waiting for this.

Hasbro shut down Kre-O at the turn of 2017 and 2018. One of their MANY "fantastic" decisions. 😕 Afterwards, they went even more insane and made a deal for a couple of years with that 'Forever Clever' company; some totally unknown D-list 'would-be-toymaker', to produce for them brick-based construction sets (of 'rack toys' quality). 😞 Thankfully, this shameful mishap came to an end and Hasbro now co-operates with both Lego (Transformers, D&D) and Mattel's Mega (G.I.Joe) in a concern of construction toys.

As a Lego fan, I'm not a fan of sets with too many premade parts. The jets look like a model kit and not a brick built set. Its almost feels like cheating. The nose and cockpit of the jet are too clean because its one piece, instead of using unique techniques to use preexisting pieces to get as close as possible to the source material. Lego wouldn't of taken the Joe license like the Transformers, because of the real world military themes.
@subraxas
@subraxas Ай бұрын
TLG (The Lego Group) also uses large compact pieces for the "noses" of their big airplanes and city trains and such. Yes, it would be KIND OF better if they were instead completely brick-built, but then again, they would almost certainly not look that great in the end.
