Good on tam talking about how devious and psychologically manipulative aspect of cracking packs in in pokemon tcg pocket. games with MTX and lootboxes etc. may not personally bother some people , but you gotta advocate for the people that get addicted to this stuff. it's too common a opinion in games media of "doesn't effect me" or "it's not as predatory as other games" that's very dismissive of a nefarious practice in video games.
@maximilianocarrion15993 күн бұрын
I absolutely and wholeheartedly agree. Plus I know it's already a "tired subject", but It always irks me that nobody even mentions it nowadays and it's just treated as a "new normal". There's NOTHING normal about it!.

It’s not even that satisfying, to boot. Im a big tcg and digital tcg player and I don’t see why everyone is so in love with ripping these packs. Not any better than ripping packs in any other tcg.

I am gonna have to be that guy- This format is bad. 9 people yelling over each other about random pseudo-related gaming nonsense with questionable mic audio and topics that make little sense. I'm old enough to remember everyone at a table being quiet and listening while Ben Pack read about Disco Elysium from his notes while breaking down in tears. This is like watching people at a party with no alcohol yell about things they like. Far cry from the Gerstmann/Shoemaker/Pack/Vinny days. Maybe this is what "hits" with the kids today. No thank you.

Yeah, the Pokemon app is pretty devious. Like any lootbox are cardpack game, what you get is already determined upon purchase. I think before the introduce the trading system, the game is objectively not a good thing for people have gambling tendencies. This is why more games should at least have a marketplace like on Steam, so epople can actually sell or trade. I am with Tam here. I am an avid Valve fan and still play DotA, CS and started from TF2. I hate lootboxes.

@gamelord12 this argument is as comical as the early 90s violence in video games leads to violence in real life. We're arguing opening packs in a free game? And a card game is a problem? So, literally everything that can be done in video games is an issue at this point.

I'm just glad David Hayter is back as Snake in remake/remaster of MGS3. I got a voice acting background and he's been such an inspiration since MGS. The vocal training was tough, without noticeable results but actors like him or late Kevin Conroy re a great impulse to not give up: I was almost Leon in those new RE games :) Fan fact; Hayter co wrote the 2009 Watchmen film.

Good GOTY talk. I think getting a nice big round table so that everybody can see each other and read some of the body language would help a lot with the talking over/interruptions.Not sure if an actual deep discussion about any game's merits could be had with 9 people at once though - and that's something that made older GB GOTY dicussions legendary especialy towards the end where everybody got a good chunk of time to fight / provide good arguments for his favorite game .Props to Tam about being concise and making some great ponts especially baout the card pack stuff.

@BillNyeGuy2 күн бұрын
Story. As much as I really liked Rebirth, you can tell this is the part of the OG where much wasn’t happening so they struggled here with story. And then they got to the ending and how many people think they nailed that ending? As great as the game is, that hurts it with the general audience who played it.

@@og3dkooz1 You are 100% correct, but I never seem to learn my lesson. You know what is crazy, the top comment over there under this posted video is literally praising the audio of this. I'm being serious. It's insane levels of denial from people with no skin in the game other than their fandom. -- I went over there to voice my displeasure that the audio sucks, they need a moderator directing traffic, there are too many of them for this format, and a couple of them need pulled aside and told to stop trying so hard for attention. I was immediately downvoted multiple times for pointing out the obvious and giving some tough but constructive criticism. -- It's frustrating. This entirely too large of a group has now ruined the end of the year awards after ruining the Game Awards reaction video, and that is what I liked most about Giant Bomb all these years. -- A couple weeks ago, they were joking about quiet quitting jobs. If they keep this up, they won't have this job to quiet quit.
