Robert, the bulbous bow also reduces the pounding effect in heavy seas. The air inside provides buoyancy and helps eliminate the slamming of the forward part of the hull especially when going head into the sea

They're sweet knives! I wanted to buy my brother one of the Deer Meat For Dinner laser inscribed skinning knives but I just can't swing it.
