638 is a great option for when things are super loosie goosie. It's aerobic and can handle up to 0.015"/0.3mm gaps, which is massive.

Bro do you have some sort of troubleshooting to help with a creak: with a bb30- bb infinite Bottom which adapts for 24mm spindle- dura ace crank If I clean everything drivetrain to perfection re lube chains re grease spindle I go for a ride no creak for like first 5 mins of riding Than boom a creaking medium to heavy once I start putting any power down It’s like maybe a bolt or two is not up to spec so yes spec them up but loctite with this setup would or wouldn’t do a thing? I’m asking but obviously I can just trial error it up myself but i ask first u ever came up with a recipe to fix this issue with this type of crank to BB ratio😊
@jeffster7 Жыл бұрын
I had a noise that only clicked 2 times per complete full cycle, on riding uphill or first few cranks starting out from a complete stop; HARD to find on the stand with no stress! I just bought for my brother, a practically new bike from someone that never found time to ride it. I knew it was not a tired bottom bracket or anything serious of course; I found it was a loose nut on the back wheel; looks like it never got assembled right; there's only 300 miles on this bike, and it has a loose wheel nut? Not tightened to spec from the bike shop or factory. It was only on the left side away from the gears; was quite loose, without much play in it however; but not even finger tight.. 3/4 inch nut, or mm equiv. The loud click was from the loose nut and the lock washer caught between nut and main washer. Wheel did not come off when riding; but I'm amazed original owner did not see that, before selling it to me. It made all the difference to fix one thing at a time; test ride it, and I could tell instantly I had my culprit! Had to re-align the back caliper too; glad I just purchased a rotor alignment shoe that fits over the rotor when adjusting; worked like a charm; I find them difficult to adjust properly otherwise. It was definitely out of alignment once the wheel was on tight; it would not spin for long when on a stand, without realignment, and when I loosened the caliper, took it out of the equation; all was well... nice to have a bike stand, can't recommend it enough; if you like bikes, get a stand.

We recommend retaining compound for all spider to crank interfaces as an easy preventative measure.

We've got VT538 and 530. I'd use the 530 for a spider to crank fit: www.bbinfinite.com/products/vibratite-530-loctite-609?_pos=1&_sid=d77ff8c61&_ss=r&variant=32377335886

I can't find any of those products you recommend in Europe and the BB of my Synapse is killing me. Being in a coastal area (salt, wind, dirty) makes things worse. Lately the greasing done usually by mechanics ovr here doesn't help any longer. If I pedal with power, especially en danseuse, it's neverending noise!
@BBInfinite Жыл бұрын
Of course we recommend you buy our BB for starters. As for products we recommend, the alternatives would be: for VibraTite530, substitute Loctite 609. Simple. VibraTite538 ir Loctite 638. Loctite originated in Germany and their products are all over Europe. I hope this helped you.

Yes, it's a Cinch system, and all Cinch cranks have this tendency to creak at the splines.

I tried this method and found it still made some noise. Grease seemed to work better for me. Although usually only lasts a season
@BBInfinite3 жыл бұрын
If it made noise, you didn't get it quite right. Bonding the parts together will stop the creaking. Grease just hides it, allowing things to slide around quietly for awhile. It it's bonded with 609 or VT530 it will not make a peep. Grease is for a temporary fix.

609 is common in Europe. Try ordering from Henkel directly. I'm not sure about the 603. 641 will work, just a bit too light for our tastes. You will always be able to disassemble it, no problem.

Torque wrenches... Locktite... Crap engineering.
@BBInfinite28 күн бұрын
Applying proper torque is the essence of professionalism. Every fastener has a specified torque because bolts stretch and yield depending on the force applied. A properly torqued fastener is stretched slightly. If too much is applied, it will yield. Loctite is a retaining compound used in automotive, aerospace, and everywhere bolts and pressfit exists because of proper engineering.
