Maybe one day this world will have real life Gundams that will have tournaments like in G Gundam to determine who is the better country, instead of having wars like we do today would be cool

That'd be stupid unless the gundams weren't so damn big . It would be destructive to surrounding areas and expensive to make repairs on the gundams. It would work better if the gundams weren't so big though.

Gundam was an amazing series. Though I've only started seeing the Mobile Suit Gundam 00 series, it has really amazed me. Loved the action and the storyline. Gotta love gundam!

I'll be totally honest, when I first heard about this I immediately thought "it's just a giant toy". But when I found out that it basically saved Tokyo's economy, I was genuinely impressed.

Duuude, sweet! Now it's time for America to have a try. If Japan and America got into a contest to see who can build the coolest mech from popular culture, that'd kick ass. I'd love to see an Atlas battlemech done like this!

@Apparoid tbh though, its not unheard of. They tried testing frisbees for military application. The idea for grenades is based off of catch. EVERYTHING can be used for the military.

@dedwilson i think i can, seeing as how i've seen all gundams, and they're totally different series
The only reason I watched this video was to hear the reporter say "Gundam" in a British accent. My life is complete.

Some guy in one of the midwest states already made a giant 70 foot tall robot that he can piot it moves walks and can pick up trees, he is currently using it for study but is hoping to use it in the tree logging industry then entertainment and possibly military, this stuff is becoming more a reality everyday.

Just recently, they made a live android that performed a musicial or something like that, in Japan. It moved a little but I thought it was a real girl at first. It was almost in sync with the movements of the actual performers. More proof that Japan is ahead of us.
@1400VID14 жыл бұрын
That looks like Armuro's mobile suit. Those Earth forces are at it again.
@GetitUnderCool11 жыл бұрын
of course, the whole point is to have something with the armour and firepower of a MBT and the agility and mobility of an infantry trooper.

@Apparoid13 жыл бұрын
Its true xD They really ARE trying to test these for military applications. Its nothing out of the ordinary though, its not like they will be able to fly or fight in space or transform, they would mostly be like really big tanks. The reason the military wants to try making a legit super-mech is because the humanoid shape and movements allow for superior maneuverability to that of a tank. To the comment about them being a big target, their armor would make them fairly resistant to enemy fire.
@zodiaccurse1214 жыл бұрын
godzilla only got pissed about nuclear weapons, so I think he wouldn't mind a sparing partner lol

America should have three statues built after the giant mechs in The Big O: Big O, Big Fau, and my favorite Big Duo
@Citrakite12 жыл бұрын
Really does make you get the scale of the gundams compared to the real world.
@pinoypizza13 жыл бұрын
I sure hope the statue will stay up, because the giant Gundam has the potential to be a huge tourist attraction for Japan's tourism economy. Look at the Eiffel Tower in Paris; originally it was a gimmick, but clamor from tourists convinced France to have it stay up, and now it's a Parisian icon. The RX-78 should be the same.
@gurney3714 жыл бұрын
I like this gundam and I am also a gundam fan!
@leo11lim5 жыл бұрын
The life size Gundam maybe replace by unicorn but the UC legacy will live on in pop culture media like Watchmojo, Ready player one and Death battle.
@tehredmage13 жыл бұрын
Now imagine a Zaku squad trying to bring that gundam down with their machine guns. Just goes to show the scale at which the anime operates on.

@GetitUnderCool11 жыл бұрын
i think the main problem is that something that big is quite hard to miss. That and the impracticality of operating a humanoid body with lever and buttons, but neural interfaces are becoming reality. st
@pinoyboy108113 жыл бұрын
It only moves it's head, or so they say. It might be a fully-functional Gundam, they're just waiting for their chance to strike.

ITS A GUNDAM!!!!! If this was in the US some people would said Hay look its a Transformers
@FikoReborn13 жыл бұрын
@VegTutor Who knows? I don't think it was standing at the time. They put it up during the summer of '09, and again in '10, but pretty sure it was not standing at the time of the earthquake and tsunami. I'm not sure where they stored it, knowing that may be the answer you are looking for. I think the main reason it's not a permanent fixture is that it's not designed to withstand mother nature over time... and I'm talking about the normal stuff like rain, snow, ice, etc.
@wisewarriormuzic13 жыл бұрын

@Sturmdude13 жыл бұрын
now they need a scale 1/1 red zaku to stand in front of the gundam and have them facing each other.
@Slayerx4911 жыл бұрын
To mobile suit be a viable weapon, they would need serious thick armor, like gundaniun alloy in GW and be fast and agile.
@devildoc30312 жыл бұрын
the problem with that idea is that without reinforeced armor these would be tactically useless. a hit in the leg and it falls over you cant do anything. you knock the treads off a tank it can still fight just not move. Once more effective armor and power sources this could be a possibilty.
