I’ve seen videos of Genki holding Kintero on her side with her right arm while she’s running on two legs trying to get to the food pile before the two large males take everything. Genki is amazing. Go check out “Louis” the silverback gorilla….he does a lot of bi-pedal walking because he doesn’t like to get his hands and food dirty. He’s actually kinda cute, Louis the Silverback…check him out.

I think they are creatures of habit. I have no idea why people attach human labels to them calling them 'husbands and wives' it's totally silly. They are animals, wonderful though they are they are still animals. Most animals are initially wary of a change in location or routine. He will be fine once he is used to it.

@dooley8746 Жыл бұрын
Worldwide almost all gorillas in zoos were born into captivity. Every once in awhile a zoo will take in a gorilla if possible that got rescued from poachers or illegal research labs, but most of the time poachers have numerous gorillas held captive and those gorillas, instead of going to a zoo once rescued, get a separate habitat made for them that's like a halfway house between a zoo and being in the wild because they have special needs beyond what either captive or wild gorillas would have due to abuse and possible malnourishment. Those habitats aren't normally open to visitors like a zoo, but rather focus on nursing the gorillas back to health. And what you are seeing in this channel's videos is just the caretaker building of this zoo's gorilla habitat. The gorillas have a huge outdoor area all to themselves. But funnily enough this family of gorillas chose the basement of the caretaker building to sleep in, rather than outside. Zoo gorillas usually sleep outside, as they would in the wild. This zoo originally planned for these gorillas to nest outside like normal gorillas, but this particular gorilla family preferred the basement of the caretaker building over sleeping outside. So the caretakers eventually chose to adapt the building to make the gorillas happy, instead of constantly having to drive them out every night because the gorillas refused to leave. So the gorillas sleep in the basement and they eat upstairs. The door is left open in case they ever change their mind, but so far they prefer the basement. The gorillas do spend the rest of their waking hours in the outside portion of their habitat, which this channel never shows because it's a caretaker filming and caretakers aren't allowed to just roam the outside portion of the gorilla habitat as they please, because that's the gorilla's area. So in other words, these gorillas rather like the cement caretaker building, so much so that they took it over.
