Also, dogs see you as masters, and in human nature they like to be seen as a master and they like to be depended on, that's why most people like dogs. However, cats view you as an equal; room mate, friend, maybe sibling. That's why they don't depend their lives on you and don't need as much attention, and that's why people think dogs love humans more than cats do; because dogs depend on their owners more. They only scratch and bite because they are more sensitive than dogs and only when you threaten or annoy them. Cat purrs are also beneficial for your body. They are used in sound therapies and such. "A cat's purr is generally within the range of 40 - 200 Hz. In sound therapy, these frequencies are believed to heal injuries and relieve pain. It is also told that injured cats often purr to help soothe and heal themselves" Note: This comment is not targeted toward all dog lovers/owners.
