I worked on the B-52G back in the 80's. My job was flight controls, landing gear, windows, etc. We did all the maintenance that just shy of depot level. It was interesting to see the wings on your BUFF flex like they did. This is behavior is actually a pretty damn close to what the BUFF would do. The wings of the BUFF were made to flex up to 32'! What was impressive about that is that fuel leakage from the wing tanks was practically nil. That old girl was engineered correctly! I spent a total of 6 years working on the BUFF and it holds a place that is near and dear to my heart. I have a ton of stories about the old girl!

Amazing model. I flew off a SAC base, but not BUFFs. I flew smaller jets at Blytheville AFB which was built on a swamp. After a B52 would take off, the 24" X 50' concrete slabs on the runway would move around and make the runway unusable for us for several minutes until the runway settled back down. The only thing you guys missed on this model was that Boeing built the BUFF with a high angle of incidence so that the plane climbed out at 2 or 3 degrees nose DOWN. The pilots would unstick the plane off the runway then push the yoke forward and the plane would climb out nose down. With the bicycle gear it would allow a flat approach and landing. Truly an amazing model of an amazing plane that the Air Force plans on flying for an unheard of 100 year life cycle. Keep up the great work guys. Love your channel.

Great job and congrats on a successful first attempt. I was an airframe inspector on B52G and H models, the wing flex was designed in for not just survivability but it made it a very stable bombing platform as well, in flight the wings curve up and backwards and have a 6" incidence for added lift. On the ground the tip gear wheel is either on the ground or above your head depending on the fuel load, quite and aircraft and I feel privileged to have worked on them.

I splice a couple pop sticks into wing (vertical) sort of like spar on my modified scale down 30" wing scout...The wing form a crease from 10-15 crash into tree, bushes, cartwheels..ect :-P . It works like a charm becuase the pop sticks are VERTICAL and has more gluing surface INTO the FOAM. Quick , simple and effective. I Do that to all my new builds now. I'll slice a couple pop stick ( 2" long) into the tops sheet of wing.ect ( at wing joint) Even with diehedral ( it dosnt have to be perfect, no one will see it.) The model still flies GREAT. it has red or clear packing tape patches all over it....and holes from the tree's branch sticking into it..It look like a patch up war bird :-P. I tested it....wazooo of snap rolls :-P I love that model..it's on a 2200 mah 3s on 2208 1400KV. So it's on the heaver wingload. but it cuts through the wind better for a smaller model. i can fly it in 10-15 wind. I get great power to wiegth ratio and over 12-15 mins of evasive flying flight time. i practice doing aerobatics with it...that's why I crash it all the time. I can also fly it a park..if I wanted it. Even thou it's slight over 350 grams it's under 200 grams less the battery. A little more than one sheet of foam. I also crash my modify 44" cub :-P.....I used 1mm plywood as doublers for the entire front end. I went in NOSE FIRST.( batteries went out.lmao) Nothing happened to the nose..Just a couple of crease behind the plywood/landing gear. It's FIELD TESTED :-P You can get 1mmplywood from the dollar store. It's a decent size 4 channels trainer only on a 2212 1000kv. It'll do all the basic loop and rolls too...practice doing cuban 8, emuman. split S, snap rolls, 4 pionts rolls, inverted..ect over 850 grams AUW :-P . It would go bullistic on the 2218. FOam board models are great. Cheap, effective, fun. On a balsa model the entire front end would had exploded into hundreds of pieces...Even if I had to build new cubs ( I have plenty) That's why i bash is as JosH suggested . it's under $5 . i used pre coloured cub yellow foam boards :-P

The truck angle is called "crab angle". Also, the B-52 has a bunch of air flow directors on the wings that are called "vortex generators". The flaps on the B-52 are huge, and the vortex generators straighten out the air flow over the wings. The early B-52's (A-F models) had a large vertical tail rudder. I guess they had a problem with the rudder having too much control because the G and H models have a much smaller vertical tail. All of the other dimensions are the same. Longer wings than the fuselage. But it is not a glider. Duuuhhhhh. Nice job. Brings back memories.
