I really like this conversion from F5J to handglider. I think engineless gliders are the best. I understand that the F3J category is almost gone. I think it was the best because you exercised and at the same time you thought. Now many people prefer to move as little as possible.

@@RCflyingmore Julian...thank you for taking the time to even reply. I am limited to micro scale gliders because of places to fly them. I have just built the Carl Dowdy " Bug" from plans and tissue and doped it. It has a V tail which I have never built before. I have modelled for 50 years now but never built a modern Hlg or Dlg with carbon spars etc. It is ultra light and I love to learn modern build concepts What I have to ask you as a world class Rc glider pilot is...... You have chosen a V tail design. What are the advantages? If you have time to answer I will also be honoured. Happy happy flying and please continue to " wow" us with your unequalled skills! Peter

Hi Julian, thanks for sharing your ideas and nice flights! If I could suggest a possible future topic, it would be, if you would be so kind and sharing you way of setting up a newly build glider, I mean only that you tell us the basic steps a principle you follow (in particular V tail glider, such as this in the video) as well as arrangement of the different controls on the transmitter which works well for you. (For example visibly, you work all the time with flaps, so you must have it assigned to a place that is in the right position..) thanks for considering! Have a great day!

Back in the day I had a 50" HLG called "Flipper". I had a lot of fun with it in small fields. Doing a search for Flipper, the one I see is NOT the one I had then, the one I had was all balsa wood, the newer Flipper looks like a lot of carbon parts. The one I had was made by Bridi Aircraft Designs, I found the plans for it. Might hafta just grab some balsa and get things dusty.

I wonder if the PWR on solar is good enough for that? Without a motor, the draw from RC stuff is likely minimal. Could probably stay up longer than most people are willing to keep flying it.
@remigoldbach96083 жыл бұрын
Perhaps you could also use the holes of the 3D printed piece and the motor mount in the fuselage to screw it ? But if tape do the job, it’s a fast solution.
