John, I love your video's. You probably have the largest R/C glider collection in the world. My brother and brother in-law want to get in to R/C flying and I was going to suggest learning on a Carl Goldberg Gentle Lady, but after watching this video, I think this Lazy Bee would be even better than a Gentle Lady for learning. This appears to be an Andy Clancy Designs powered Lazy Bee turned into a glider, but did you build the 48" version or did you modify it more than just turn the powered airplane into a glider?
@richarddarlington11394 жыл бұрын
@@larry903s Keep in mind that John is an experienced R/C pilot. The Lazy Bee, as charming as it is, has some disadvantages. A Gentle Lady (if you can find one) would be a much better choice for a beginning builder and pilot. A Sig Riser would be a great choice as well.

I didn't need to eat, but I confess to having spent enough of that time with a beer in one hand that I'm sure I could have managed a grilled cheese sandwich between beers.

Fantastic! I built a really great towline glider back in the day (called the 'Jetco 50') but no R/C. You made your own fuse and tied it to the rubber band the secured the tail assembly. The fuse burned down (about 12" per minute) and the tail assembly disconnected itself from the fuselage but for a string holding in on and the plane tumbled to the ground (or, in my case, somewhere out in Lake Ontario :-( ). Yours is the penultimate expression of what a pet glider can be - love the color scheme too 💖
