SEAMUS IS LIVING LIFE ON HIS TERMS!! HE ISN'T HARMING NOBODY!! HIS MOM LOVES HIM JUST THE SAME!! HE IS TOO CUTE FOR WORDS!!
@EricS-uf9mv2 ай бұрын
Don't buy ENDANGERED SPECIES from random men & women who claim they, "Just can't keep 'em anymore." These people are likely wildlife brokers & wranglers. They sell exotic animals, in this case illegally poached & critically endangered Giant Tortoises, to rich people as "pets". These animals are illegally harvested from the Galápagos Islands and surrounding island chains for profit. Several Giant Tortoise subspecies from less patrolled areas have already gone extinct from poaching. So YES, Seamus's mom (and aunt who bought him) ARE causing harm. Buying endangered species is a net harm to conservation efforts and only fuels more illegal poaching. Plus it harms the individual animal themselves... Why do you think Seamus "loves" his ball so much? It's because he literally LOVES it... or is attempting to "love it". He thinks the ball is another tortoise and is chronically trying to mate. Unfortunately for Seamus and his entire species who are quickly going extinct, he can't.

My old neighbors had a turtle like this, his name was Brutus. He was awesome! They had converted an old chicken coop for him, he had his own veggie garden to munch on and his own pool to chill out in. His house had two barn doors that had 2 cute little wreaths hanging on them they were decorated for various holidays. I loved having him across the street, I would walk over and see him as often as I could. They moved about a year ago, Miss you Brutus!

@ he was awesome. Had a red ball that he pushed around. He had his own “fenced” in area in their back yard, fence was about 2’ tall. He loved munching on his veggies, if I remember correctly his house was heated and air conditioned. He had worn a path in certain parts of the grass where he walked more. He absolutely loved his little pool, that’s where I would find him most of the time when I would visit. I’d never been around a tortoise like that before so I enjoyed learning about him. I was sad to see him go when they moved.

I watched a show about exotic animal vets on television. One of the vets had a Sulcata tortoise that strolled away, and they had to get a sturdy large vet tech with a wheelbarrow to retrieve it from a mile down the road. When smaller tortoises came for a vet visit, they used a rolling stool under the animal to get it from place to place.

“You can’t go through the fence buddy.” Seamus: “Watch me.” I know that look well. I have a Russian tortoise. They all do that. Go around the obstacle where they know they’ll fit and have the shortest distance to travel? No! “If my head fits, the rest of me should fit just fine! I’m going through the narrowest, most inconvenient path to get to that spot…for tortoise reasons! And when everything is displaced and destroyed in a mound of debris, I shall climb on top and take a victory nap!”
