I tend to agree. I have seen our receivers streaking wide open down the field while Dabes was screaming at Jones "THROW THE FUCKIN BALL!!!!!" Who knows what kind of Head Coach Dabes would be if he had a real QB? Schoen on the other hand has proven to be a really bad GM.

Saquon Barkley and Xavier McKinney never worked out because for the most part - They never stayed healthy when it counted outside the one playoff run. No matter how talented they are - Spending big cap money for players that fail to stay healthy for more than half their careers never works. Joe Schoen did the right thing letting them go. It frees up big cap space and provides room to put other talent in free agency and trades along with getting a QB in the draft. It all gives the Giants a chance for a fresh start next season.

Not Brian Daboll's fault. Schoen is absolutely awful at roster building. He has let a lot of talent walk and his drafts are mediocre at best. Daboll cannot coach players with limited skills that would be on practice squads of a majority of NFL teams. Schoen is the one that should be fired. Which would probably mean the end for Daboll too. (I am sure John Mara is thrilled with the MVP chants for Saquon at the Linc, and may be poised to break Eric Dickerson's single season rushing record....while playing the Giants!)

Dabol is a FAILED HC, actually Josh Allen has IMPROVED AFTER , Dabol left. Dabol started 6-2 and since then , the on field performance has CRATERED! I have another way for the GM/HC…GO AWAY !

There's no argument in support of that, Schoen is the one that imposed incompetent Quarterbacks on Daboll for another year, the playoff run in 2022 was because of the HC making the most out of mostly Gettleman's roster, Schoen was the one that let Barkley and McKinney go, so how dare the person more responsible for this mess be rewarded while the person that's shown more flashes of success be the scapegoat.

But “no argument?” Evan Neal was one of the most highly graded tackles in the last 10 years, by any estimation a sure hit. JMS the best center in the draft and not near Evan Neal’s grading, but good. KT is ok, but way under performing for where he was drafted. Some good draft picks turned to shit under Daboll. Theres more, but im working and cant post bad coaching results all day. The point is one could make the argument and would have at least a few arguments definitely not zero.

I am putting forth a position I dont actually believe to try to show its not insane to think Daboll would be fired and schoen kept. Daboll is a good offensive motivator and play designer, he hasnt shown hes a good play caller, worst offense weve shown yet is his play calling, the best in this regimes history is not him at all. The state of the locker room now could mean he is not a good leader of men when the chips are down. We don’t truly know. The problem with humans is we decide we believe something and then shut our mind to different viewpoints, I like to be sure not to do that. This is a different viewpoint, and the reasons it might be right, even though my own belief is that the entire regime has to go, the decline has been too drastic with no improvement at all. We are so much more than DJ away from being winners, I think thats what the fanbase hoped, but it was only going to get worse because he was not the problem, just a symptom of it.

It’s one thing to vent one’s frustrations with the perennial awfulness that are the New York Giants. But it’s knee jerk to say fire the coach, fire the GM. What you have to do is ask yourself who are we going to replace them with? There are at least 4 NFL head coaching jobs open at the end of the year. In my opinion the Giants are the worst of the four for the simple reason that they have the least amount of talent. How come all of the pundits are saying fire fire fire but none of them are listing the possible replacements. So come on pundits tell us who are these replacements are and how likely is it that they choose the Giants and not one of the other NFL jobs?

The Giants should keep Schoen and Daboll, even though Daboll mishandled Daniel Jones. If the Giants hire another GM and coach, the new GM and coach will need to learn and make mistakes. Joe Schoen had an excellent draft in 2024.

Can the progress should be the question. Do they have potential. DC on Lions was a nothing burger team. I can physically see what Schoen has learned. I hear people say they like Daboll play calling n he's not screaming in his headset. I see him learning. The o line coach is a good addition. I think they deserve a chance with a new QB. Players aren't mouthing off so they have more control than the Jets n some other teams out there.

As a Giants fan I'm glad that both Schoen and Daboll are staying. Joe Schoen has put some nice pieces to build around the roster here and there. It's the coaches job to put it together and Make it work. The only problem is - They never had the quarterback. In a QB driven league - Even Bill Belichick couldn't win without one. How does anyone expect Daboll to do it ? A coach without a quarterback is similar to a cab driver without a steering wheel - He can't do the job without it. Is it fair to fire the coach anymore than the cabby ? Let the Giants lose out and that QB problem is an oversight that will soon be corrected in the NFL Draft.
