I was born and raised in Pennsylvania. I started watching baseball in the late 80's and was immediately struck to Will Clark and the Giants. He was a left hander like me and was an absolute stud. He was and is my only favorite baseball player and I'm glad I got to see him play three times throughout his career. I love to read the comments on him and am glad that others see the greatness he possessed. Will you absolutely are a hall of famer and I hope one day they put you in there. Congratulations on a wonderful career and know I will always be a fan of you and your achievements. Finally the thrill is back in the San Francisco bay area.

I grew up on the east coast, and my brother and I collected baseball cards, his favorite player to collect was Cal Ripken Jr, and mine was no other than Will Clark. I have probably every damn baseball card of Will Clark. I would bat like him in my backyard……he was an exciting ball player to watch. I always chose the Giants in the baseball video games, Kevin Mitchell, Uribe, Clark…..just a great lineup.

Will Clark had me hooked from his very first day and at bat. The man had fire in his belly and he reminded me of Pete Rose without the gambling.

The main reason why I am a Giants fan. Guy was a stud when he played. He played the game with tenacity! Treated the game with respect. And is the reason why pitchers and coaches cover their mouths when they visit the mound. Ask Greg Maddux about that!!!!!

I always thought he was known as an arrogant bastard, he called teammate Chris Brown a nig*** and had to apologize in front of the team.

When I was in like 4th or 5th grade in early 90s, I sent a bunch of baseball cards to my favorite players along with self-addressed stamped envelopes asking for autographs on my cards. Don't even remember how or where I found the mailing address to each team. At some point I completely forgot about sending them and figured no one was going to ever return my cards. But after like a year and a half or so, one day I was surprised that I got one of my envelopes back in the mail, and inside there was my baseball card signed by Will Clark. He was the only player that sent my card back and actually took the time to autograph it and return it to me, just some random kid. Since then he was always my favorite baseball player. What a legend!

@Lighthouse in the Storm As a life time Giants fan. I believe he should be and Steve Garvey and probably Ron Cey, and Rick Monday if for no other reason than when he stopped that dirtbag from trying to burn the American flag. The only day I was a Dodger fan.

As a kid growing up in Maine during the 80's, I very rarely got to see Will Clark play ball, but for some weird reason he was my favorite player. Would really like to have seen what he & Bonds could have done if he had stayed healthy and in SF

I wonder how I would feel if he never decided to go to the Rangers. I remember as a kid seeing him walking around their stadium and getting introduced to the fans. I have never felt the same about him. It's like he was the first baseball player who left my favorite team and now he comes back to relive his glory time that he should of never left

And I remember George Bush sr talking to him also. At the time I guess that was a little hard to beat. But I do wish he hadn't left. I was mad at the Giants for a long time for not doing more to keep him. Can you imagine him and Bonds together for the next couple of years..
@negtype13
@negtype13 20 күн бұрын
First of all, HE never DECIDED to go. He was forced away and Clark will be the first to tell you he wanted to die a SF Giant. Giants owner Peter Magowan and general manager Bob Quinn wouldn't offer a guaranteed deal for more three years, this showed him little faith and Clark went with the Rangers. Also Robbie Thompson had a career yr in ‘93 and the Giants saw it more important to lock down a Silver Slugger/Gold Glove 2nd baseman than an ailing Clark.

@@biggestgiantsfanever Na I love Craw but Na it’s like 18 for Cain too they were great but retired number are for guys who are Hall of fame and Buster and Botch will be. That’s why 28 and 15 should get retired but Craw isn’t a hall of famer and Will and Barry should be in the Hall so their numbers being retired make sense and Timmy made the Ballot at least Craw ain’t gonna make the ballot unfortunately
