I own one of these. The BB3 in the bridge sounds way too thin, even in this video. I'm swapping it out for a zebra-coiled EVH Wolfgang bridge pickup. Otherwise it's a great guitar. The volume pot for the bridge should be switched to the first volume pot location for easier access. Most people hardly/never use the neck pickup.

man the BB3 is my all time favorite pickup. i guess that's why they're so many.

Have that guitar and honestly tho it's not thin at all to my ears... Quite vintage in style but can still pack a punch

Forgot to mention they don't stay in tune!! Just bought one and I think must have got me a Friday afternoon guitar, can't play one song with having to re-tune. The one I have must have a rushed job.

I am surprised that you are having tuning issues. I have an 85 V ( headstock pictured in my icon) and it is the absolute rock as far as staying in tune. Maybe try a dab of liquid graphite in the string slots of the nut. I think it will help.

I bought mine the first week they were available. All the advertising in the weeks leading up to the release stated that both the V and the Explorer came with the 500T/496R pickup set. I haven't opened mine up yet, but I'm positive it doesn't have that set. My old Epi SG G400 has way hotter pickups than my V. I'm pretty sure it shipped with the BB3/'57 Classic set that they are advertising now. By the way, I'm selling it because it sounds like shit.
