On another note, I’ve installed the faber ezy plus conversion so that the bridge in the LP 60s is drilled into the body like the custom shop and coupled with the Sheptones Tribute and russian pio caps, man it sounds much better than another stock LP 60s I have so maybe you should give that a go and do some further comparison (sound wise I think it would be much closer to the reissue but of course the feeling will NEVER be the same). Excellent review! Would you say the custombuckers let you hear more of the players fingers rather just just tone compared to the 60s burstbuckers?

Hi Ryan, I own a LP 60’s with Sheptone Tributes and just wonder if you’d please be able to share your 1960 reissue pickups height as I have always been inclined to approx. 2.4mm on the low e and 1.6mm on the high E on both pickups (adjusting a bit for volume purposes) but seems that Jim Decola suggests 1.6mm on low e and 1.2mm on high E for the bridge and 2.00mm on low e and 1.6mm on high E for the neck. I tried that and although the pickups became more alive I still think the bridge might be too high. Anyway, great review and playing and hopefully you can share your pup heights from a player (instead of only luthier) perspective. Thanks all the way from Australia!

Have you done a demo of the made in japan Jackson RR24, one bridge EMG 81 and Floyd Rose, black body and neck with red bevels and red headstock logo??

No. I used to like Jacksons as they are nice project guitars. But I get bored of them and they don't retain their value at all. I'd much rather spend my money on Guitars that constantly make me reach for them. Cheers -Ryan

The Standard pickups are potted, not unpotted

www.gibson.com/en-US/p/Pickup/PU60BBDBNC2/PU60BBDBNC2 you should be able to read that they are "Unpotted". They are the 61R/T Pickups. They have always been unpotted. The '57 Classics and Burstbucker Pros, however, are potted. Cheers -Ryan

Both sound exactly the same when played with distortion through a bunch of effects. Save your money and buy an epi instead to use on stage 🤔😁
