keaton look for a nice used epiphone les paul standard custom or a custom pro ($250-$400 us used) they play and look great switch out the pick ups when you can and you will have a great guitar for under $500 US

Ernesto Lone Wolf I never knew make guitars, I've seen a bunch of basses which looked cool. But they're not my cup of tea. I'm saving up for an Epiphone Les Paul tribute, which has Gibson classic 57' pickups, a maple cap with a veneer on top of it, which also comes with a case. And I'm also planning to save up for a Marshall Code 50. But I'm broke af, so idk what to do lol

How the heck did i get here? I play electric violin and was researching a good modeling amp for home use, and ended up on your KZbin channel. I watched a couple videos and all of a sudden I have become this enlightened, guitar lusting fool. I love your channel and watch all the time now, through Chappers dreds up to the present. It has helped give me some cred too with my guitar-playing son-in-law. I can now ID various guitars from the cheap seats at concerts with a fair amount of accuracy, I also learned the opening riff from "Satisfaction" and am going to freak him out next visit. I also love the fact you genuinely are good mates and are so enjoyable to listen to when you jam. Cheers mates!!

An idea for a video - around £500-£600 is where Epiphone/Gibson and Fender/Squier meet. Given such a budget constraint, what to choose - a relatively expensive Epi/Squier, or a relatively cheap Gib/Fender?
@alabastermontague68417 жыл бұрын
Top Squier vs cheapest Fender has been done a few times: basically, Classic Vibe vs MiM. I think they're okay with doing "top Epiphone vs cheapest Gibson" and I'd like to see it. Might tread on a few toes, though: more so than Squier/Fender.
@FatsquatchPNW7 жыл бұрын
alabastermontague They did the cheapest Gibby vs. dearest Epi a week or two ago. IMO the Epi won, but the Gibby was declared the winner basically because of the name on the headstock. Meh.
@alabastermontague68417 жыл бұрын
Saw it, and actually agreed with their verdict in spite of expecting the opposite: the cheapest Gibson was pretty fugly, and the Epi looked lovely, but there was something about the sound of the Gibson that won the day. Might have been luck of the draw, might have been the wood choice.
@ernestopicazo1897 жыл бұрын
alabastermontague pickups, the ones on the epi are a tad bit hotter and have a diferent voicing

AmiBorg I actually had that $700 Epiphone 1960 Tribute with the Gibson ‘57 Classics and I also bought a $800 Gibson Les Paul 70’s Tribute, and the Gibson simply blew the Epiphone out of the water. Better woods and not muffled by a poly coating, nitro is so much better.

I just purchased a 2017 LP Traditional. Traded in a 2004 LP Standard. I couldn't be happier. Non-weight relieved body, ABR bridge, 50's spec wiring (supposedly), AA flamed maple top. About as close to a historic spec guitar without spending the extra few grand. The only thing, they are putting 9 gauge strings on at the factory. 9s!
