I walked into this store and was looking at the cases of bursts. Elliot asked if I’d ever played one before. Told him I hadn’t and he opened the case and handed one to me. He left me alone in a room with a $350k. The staff was so cool. The dude’s at guitar center act annoyed and nervous when you ask to play a Les Paul, but this dude put one in my hands and I didn’t even ask. Shows how good of a dude he is.

I wanted to go in there and check stuff out when I was in town but they were so hardcore about masks I just told them they had a nice store and went down to Gruhn's and played some really sweet stuff. Carter's also had some cool stuff as well. It's just as well because I'm sure I couldn't have afforded anything in there anyway.

When I was a student, I used to hang out every afternoon at Rumble Seat in Ithaca. Eliot is the man. I'll never forget when he insisted that I play an original 58 Flying V through his 100watt marshall in the middle of the store. An experience I'll never forget!

I like shops that don’t try to be all things to all people but specialize in one area and do it well. Rumble Seat Music seems to be one of those stores. Love seeing a bunch of Les Paul Juniors hanging on the wall. One pickup is all you need and Juniors are rock n’ roll machines. I gotta get me one. I think I prefer the singlecut juniors because they have more bottom end tone-wise. Another great video and killer shop with an owner that knows his stuff. So cool Mark!!!

So when is Gibson going to reissue some of those cool old amp designs?
@TheChadPad4 жыл бұрын
That's what I'm saying. They did one of em a while back! They need to keep with that, but they're doin so much as it is, I just want them to get the guitars right, and they seem to be doing that
@junkboxhero48254 жыл бұрын
Well, they have to figure out a way to change it enough so that you'll hate it first. Then another company will come out with a real replica, Gibson wil sue, and continue to make the cheap version.
@jakestewartmusic4 жыл бұрын
@@TheChadPad Yeah, I figure that it's on their list of things to do. They've launched several KZbin features like this one, redid most of their product lineup, and transformed Epiphone. I imagine that amps aren't the highest thing on their list because they've had so much other work to do, but I think they'll eventually go for it. wouldn't be surprised if they get into the pedal market down the line too, though I hope they continue to focus on guitars first before getting too deep into that rabbithole

Great vid ! As much as I love Gibson guitars ( a few knock offs here) the amps were cool, too. '73, i'm starting at 15 with my first electric, an Audition jagalike. Bought a Harmony Rocket II a year later. Then a friend says "My uncle is selling his guitar and amp". A Lap steel set. 'Borrowed' the amp for months. Heck, bought my first box, an LPB-1. Like the heavens had opened. Jammed with ZZ's Mexican Black Bird and my Dad opened my bedroom door..."That sounds good..." one and only time. Had to give the amp back. Never seen another like it,,,rounded corner spackle finish cab, 1 10, vol and tone, beige grille cloth with a gold G on a cross bar. Should have bought this, somehow (mowing lawns then...).
