I work as a chemist and have been playing guitar for 25 years now but I would happily quit my job and make less money just to be able to work at the Gibson factory in that beautiful setting making guitars all day.

Outstanding video. So impressed by the craftsmanship in Gibson acoustic guitars. Always top notch quality filming and audio from Gibson TV. I love that they share their process and the artists that make sound come to life and the care that's taken. Robby Johns!!!! Wow.. Thank you, that helped me know what model would be best for me right away. On a side note... I would love to see Gibson upgrade the Les Paul Modern. Especially the neck joint, and carry the paint all around... you have some great colors to choose from. That's a process I'd love to see! Always on the lookout for the next video.😀

I am blessed to own a 1991 J-200, that is an absolutely fabulous instrument. Much agreed on the mid-range tonality of Gibson acoustics ... there is some of that, even in the hollow body and semi-hollow electrics. In my 61+ years of experience as a musician, I believe that this mid=range tonality supports the human singing voice the best.
@brianaverillart8 ай бұрын
03:00 - What he says about Gibson giving a strong midrange for expressive purposes is true and something that did raise questions relative to Martin D series. Various models just have that sound. My first HQ guitar was a new Gibson B-25. I was taking lessons and the action was killing me. No one bothered to say they come that way so you can have the action taken down to suit you! So, if you have a new clunky Guild, for example, adjust the action.

I have the pleasure of owning a number of Gibson Acoustics, most of them older including a Doves in Flight, a Hummingbird, an SJ 200 Deluxe and a CS 1932 L-00. They are all unique,, and all sound and play differently. I have tried some of the newer models, but so far, nothing matches my older Gibsons. Great episode, thank you so much

This is a great episode. I need to go back to watch last season. I am the proud owner of a 1993 J-30 that I have had since it was new - it has always been an awesome guitar. The neck and neck angle are still perfect and the sound is indescribably wonderful. I take care of it and don't take any crazy chances with it. Anyone that sees it and plays it is astounded. I bought a 2022 L-00 last year. I am also lucky enough to have a 2020 ES-335 and a 2021 USA Epiphone Casino. Both of those are awesome. It did take me awhile to find a 335 that I bonded with, but this one is great! I guess I am a fan!! If I ever am lucky enough to get another Gibson, it would probably have to be a Custom shop all mahogany J-45. I missed the chance on those when they were issued in a limited run a few years ago. Maybe one day. 'Til then, I will keep playing the ones that I am lucky enough to have. Thank you Gibson!

It would seem like Gibson are working hard to turn around some poor management/decisions during the mid-late teen years of this millenium. Their, err, "robot tuners" on some of their electrics while kind of "50's futuristic" wasn't a hit and dealers especially were alienated by their bossy, top down attitude. The actual guitars fortunately are still mostly great. Especially fond of their acoustics (own a couple) and so glad to see a harmonious vibe coming from that side.

What about structural binding and bracing? that shouldn't be CNC'd, it should be done by hand as it needs to be adjusted depending on the properties of the wood used all throughout the instrument ...

Why glue two pieces of wood together instead of using one larger piece?
@mikecampione2909 Жыл бұрын
most highly figured woods don't come in sizes that big the way they are milled, and if they do, the price is significantly more. It is much more economical to use 2 book-matched pieces. Gibson will do it for a price, as do other makes (PRS, etc..). GIbson uses a lot of wood, but even so those are the main reasons.

Me being me. I haven't made it past the intro playing. Said 12 string, :30 to :54 seconds has buzzing that bugs me. I'd have to set said guitar up better than that for me to dig playing it. Okay, enough of me being me. For now.
