I was brought up on punk, the Beatles, Queen, Genesis, Bowie, Who, Moody Blues, and then a big scoop of bands in the 90s and noughties. I don’t think we’ve had it as good ever since. He's literally the reason my entire life is as it is now. Picked up a guitar and pretended to be Noel every morning as a teenager. Left school, into music college, into bands for 20 years and now I'm a professional musician that has paid his house off (and secured my child's inheritance) by strumming Noel's songs, for the most part. I'd love to thank him one day, but I bet he's heard that tale a million times.

He had the opposite effect on me.I was in a Manc band (but more U2 ish, than baggy) at the time, been going for five years, played The Boardwalk loads, etc…and when they came outta nowhere and got signed,we kinda just gave up…think we realised we were not ‘it’ although we were all great musicians,it’s all about the timing/haircuts…it pained me much to watch Oasis in those days, seen most of their ‘biggies’ Maine Rd,Glastonbury etc,I knew what I was looking at though, fair do’s innit.

That’s just brilliant to read. Well done, you. You may have noticed Noel’s “Easy Now” includes the lyric “Your destination comes without a fare”. I think the song, as most of his are, is substantially autobiographical, and is to children, his children. Having had a really tough upbringing, one of the strongest motivations is absolutely to take care of your own children. I have always been exactly the same.

In the culture of British rock music, nobody does a better interview than Noel. There are some fantastic Beatles snippets and “best of Lennon” interviews… I’m a massive Bowie fan but even his interviews aren’t honest. Such a humble guy. In 1997 I was in a music equipment store in birmingham and walked into a demo room by mistake. I said sorry to a guy who sat at a mixing console in front of me and in the corner of my vision was noel, he sat on a amp arched over a white electric guitar with price tags handing off it. I turned to noel and said, sorry, I didnt know there was someone in here. Noel said, its ok come in. I said oh I dont want to disturb you, and i turned round to walk out. I heard noel say, do us a favour pal, close the door behind ya, nice one. I remember him smiling as he spoke, and that he appeared to be really small. Nice guy.

He is by far the very best raconteur of his generation, I could listen to him all day, most of the stories I've heard before but I'm just happy to listen to him again. He did a few radio shows with Matt Morgan , they are hilarious, he's got a good sense of humour , I think it was 90 minutes of noel just chuckling with his mate. Noel got me through my Mom and Dad passing away, he will never know that his stories of meeting Robert De Niro or Jerry Seinfeld kept me from going over the edge and joining them , I'd love to thank him but it would just sound a bit odd to him. Those people that don't like him just don't get him , he isn't what they think he is. As you say the older he gets and the more interviews he does where its just about him and not oasis the more he has relaxed.

But I could literally sit and listen to Noel talk about *any subject* all day, and the only way that would get better is if Liam was in the conversation also. Both of those lads are so utterly engaging you could sit in the pub with them, order up a couple of pints and say "Go", and just let them talk at you until closing time and not get bored. Noel knows his place in British music history, both his and Oasis are guaranteed. And quite rightly. He's right, nobody will ever do again what Oasis did. No band will ever grab the times, make them their own and drag the whole country along with them the way Oasis did it. They united us all in rooting for them, and cheering them on. One of the best interviews by Noel. Details of the past we never heard before supported by a crystal clear retrospective of the events made by him in his 50s. We couldn't ask for more. Definiterly he's telling everyone that OASIS is the thing that should stay in that spot, no reunions, no comebacks. Leave it where it is and enjoy the recorded legacy.

Saw the man on his birthday. Chicago 2016. His comedy was as great as his music. He might be the funniest man I've ever seen. Someone asked for Wonderwall, his reply was "This is my gig and I'm in charge of the songs. All you're in charge of is which fucking t shirt you're gonna get on your way out." Didn't play Wonderwall. Moral of the story: Never ask a proper guitarist to play Wonderwall. Especially on his birthday.

I can't tell you how much this man means to me musically. I would go to the book store in Texas and listen to Definitely Maybe at a listening station all fucking day long. Then I got tickets to their first U.S. tour in Dallas and it blew me away. After that I learned guitar and learned how to play Talk Tonight. My first song I ever learned all the way through singing and playing. Recorded it on a shitty little tape recorder with one Radio Shack microphone. Saw them on the Moring Glory tour and learned all those songs as well. Met one of my best mates that year and the first song we played together the night we met was Don't Look Back in Anger. Let's just say I've been a fan since the beginning in 1994. I'm 51 now.

My respect and interest in this guy’s process and art has risen steadily since loving Oasis in my teens. Noel is perhaps my favourite rock songwriter. Up there with Lennon/McCartney/Harrison definitely. Leaving out the classic Oasis albums, his solo records deserve a proper reappraisal. They all contain a sea of classics that sound different and more reflective compared to Oasis. Keep composing Noel! Looking forward to seeing you in Dublin this Sunday.

Never seen Noel speaking so candidly and in a place of affection about his story. He just released his best solo record and he is full of great stories and memories - i'll be lying if i said this isnt something i would like to see, but really not for me or for the fans, but Noel itself deserves, he owns the crown, he should travel the world once more with Oasis, just to pack up stadiums and truly see the height of his legacy. He is the one who made it all, he did it and still keeps doing it, so he deserves this victory lap, there you go, Thankyou Noel.
