This was very interesting. The changes or suggestions all sound good. I believe this Timber King Mill will be something you will become very adept with. I know that if this was my machine I'd paint or use tape of different colors on the handles/levers to help me remember which one was which, but that is because of the way my brain works. Everyone has their own ways of learning. Glad that overall you are happy with the unit. Will be interested in seeing the other modifications you make. My husband worked on machines that were about 30' x10' that could sort, collate and fold paper, then insert, seal and put postage on the envelopes large companies used to generate all of that fun stuff we all get in the mail. He also made suggestions and even made some small modifications to make the machines less likely to malfunction. Often the person that uses the equipment is the person who has the best idea of what is needed. Take care and will look forward to you making lumbar.

I'm a true believer now in Dielectric Grease. In Upstate NY, lots of road salt, and generally much of my equipment is outside in rain, snow, etc. I've done wire nuts like that, put the D-grease on the bare wires, twist the nut and they have survived well outside. But honestly the more you "seal" a connector, the more it seals the water in too. best thing is to put the connections under a cover (tractor hood in my case). I've actually been using "Wago" lever nuts recently with great success on my equipment. Not WX proof, need to be under a tractor hood or in a box. Designed for AC electrical work, these have been great for all the 12vdc stuff I do.

Just a little noticeable thing, at some time you may want to use windshield washer fluid instead of water for lubricating the blade. Less chance of it freezing on ya. Nice machine ☺️👍

Do some people use washer fluid for blade lube in winter I don't know how much the machine use when sawing. Leaf blower for cleaning machine during operation.. if you wanted to remove the tongue when using you could put another male and female plug on the other end of wire and just leave wire on the tounge. Thank you Tom from Nebraska

I made a ball hitch out of some steel tubing that slides over my drawbar and gets secured with a draw pin. Then I welded the ball to it. It really makes it quick and easy to hook a trailer up to the drawbar of my tractors and i don't have to worry about the ball coming loose if the drawbar hole is oval or too big. I also have a 3 point receiver hitch which is great for moving trailers. Don't have to get out to hook up or unhook. I don't like taking that down the road tho because the 3 point has no down pressure so if i stopped quick it could lift up and cause problems.

Those are called farmer added options. When I was in my antique tractor hunting phase I kept a file of "Farmer Added Options" I saw on various tractors and machinery. That is exactly why the good manufacturers did what they called field testing of their products. I can just imagine the TimberKing engineers frantically taking notes as they watch.

Great video on how things could be improved. It would definitely be nice if you could move the brain box and controls in as far as for transporting it. That could be expensive if a guy isn’t paying attention. Need to get a steel toolbox like they have for flat bed trailers. Waterproof and it should be easy to mount close to the front of the machine. God bless

I push and crank my mill manually and I’m shot when I’m done. I would love to have your $85,000 mill but just can’t justify it. So enjoy that beast for me! Thanks for going through all that for us.

they're drag back system is handy but not the greatest design, i do most of my sawing on site with my TK2020 and work solo most of the time so the drag back helps with production but you have to be careful so the boards coming back don't hit the hydraulic fittings at the command station.. With that said the mill is a beast and can handle big logs with little effort..

As far as i know no portable mill comes with a built in air compressor because that would run the price up even more most people use a leaf blow to blow off their mill and none have a solenoid to shut down t the blade lubricant either this was just a little nit picky the only thing i really agree on was the tongue but if its not going to be moved just take it and store it somewhere!
