Thats an echo speedfeed head. You dont need to take it apart to put string back in it. If you line the arrows up with the holes you can feed the string through the center of the head (like you did with it apart) and then turn the bigger piece that has the arrows on it. It will feed the string into the head itself. Something to save yall a little bit of time

Stilh makes a speed loader where you line up the holes, pull the string through; and twist. Works pretty slick.

Got one more trick to add, their are two notches for the trimmer string to go instead of trying to hold it with your fingers. It looked like yours had it, Stihl has it on theirs, took me a while to figure out after it unspool in your fingers.

Thanks for demonstrating. I never was very handy about stringing these things. Ours is just a skinny length of cable with a lead singer at the end bolted in to a wheel where the spool would be. It works great but maybe it's a little too aggressive sometimes.

Interesting because I have the same trimmer, I always thread the head by leaving the head together and reverse winding it up

I am a little surprised that your dad didn't have a Stihl string trimmer. Lol because of the chain saw collection. Echo makes good products too. Thanks for the video and see you on the next one

Call ours a weed wacker. It's electric and just for home use and is difficult to string up. Actually more likely to call it a "pain" rather than anything else. Good video and I'd also like to see it in action. Thanks

That looks like an echo speed feed head on there. There is an easier way to do that.Check the owners manual.Just line up the arrows feed the string through and spin it by hand clock wise.page 25 in the 99944200540 attachment manual btw my family and I enjoy your content

Line trimmers made not sure do a great job.The first ones that came out were not that tough!! 🤔 Back when round up came out it worked OK. It costs too much now?? 😪.We have a 40 volt line trimmer for our small acreage now. We do have 2 batteries which really helps. With a battery tool when the battery is dead you have to wait while it charges back up. I'm guessing 🤔 you have more then a few miles of fence to cut weeds under!! Thanks 😊.

I am amazed you dont use a sickle bar mower to go cut under your fences. We have ours mounted on a John Deere MT and a farmal H. We just remove the swather and go to it. Takes to of us about a day and half to clip all our pastures and fences.

Joseph is correct. You have the speed feed head. There's an easier way to spool them.

It's nice but love my ryobi cuz I run 2 Serrated plastic Blades replacing them takes like 30 seconds. To me string takes to long

The little rechargeable one I ended up with after my Stihl died has an annoying string feeder that uses a weighted stopper that releases almost every time it gets any vibration or hits something, so it ends up almost constantly feeding out string and cutting the ends off on the cut-off blade. I fixed it by taping down the weight so it doesn’t move, then simply feed it out by hand when it *actually* needs it.
