Dairymen definitely live by a daily routine. My Brother-In-Law used to milk around 90 head in a parlor. Just like you folks, there were morning and evening activities that accompanied milking along with a late-evening check on the herd and bulk tank to be certain all was in order. They continually upgraded to larger tractors and implements to make the most of the daily window for field work.

Your time machine has transported me back to southern Minnesota. To the farm I grew up on. As I watch now from southern California at 64. I realize much I miss the farm. Not only being there but the smells. The routine and the pleasure of the animals. No one other than a framer would understand the pleasure of milking a cow. God bless and Thank you.

These boys are still built 💪 for the wheelbarrow. Down the road, I'm sure they'll invest in motorized cart. The girls 👧 are content 👌

We had a Uebler 810 feed cart on our farm with tie stalls. Ours was electric but they have gas engines too. It was narrow and worked excellent on narrow feed alleys.

Thanks for this inspiring video. I love working with cows especially dairy cows. That's my passion and as an animal science and behavior student, I understand how important cow comfort is.

For the feeding I would look at a wic or a Val metal feed cart I think wic makes a pretty small one. We have two wic 52 feed carts and they never miss a beat.

Loved this video. Brought back so many good memories of growing up on a 40 cow dairy farm. We started out wheelbarrowing feed n eventually put a tmr mixer upstairs in the loft with a Weaverline Feedcart below. We really liked that feedcart
@jeremiahschumacher6 күн бұрын
I mix my feed for the cows in a TMR mixer and then use the elevator from the TMR mixer to dump into the wheelbarrow. Then you can park the mixer by the door, and I have controls on the outside of the tractor to control the elevator. That way, there's less in and out of the cab.

I let my cows out everyday ,while I run the barn cleaner, when they started to stay in the barn!In the summer you would get those hot days and you were wanting to get to the hay fields and you look down over the pasture at the cows and they're all lying under the shade tree, so they aren't grazing, they're not making milk,so I put them back in the barn, give them hay, and turn on the fans, now they're happy and making milk!

Does your father pay you a salary for helping on the farm or are you a partner and take a percentage of the milk check? What do you do at your off farm job? Do you work at a agricultural related business?

For a feed cart I would look at an agrimetal 525 I think is the smallest. They look similar to an old wic feed cart I used to use that was good in tight corners

Looks like orchard machines would come in handy if you make it a two door entrance. Like an old Fiat or Renault or something. Fendt and Landini are more modern brands for that. MF has a few too. Or maybe a Gator? Another solution would be a belt I guess.

Very informative session. NEW SUBSCRIBER. Do you sell A2 milk? It has been said A2 was designed to be easier to digest and healthier than other cow’s milk on the market. I'm a fine connoisseur of white, chocolate, and all milk products. Do you ever drink milk on the KZbin channel or at home?

May I share two small family dairy farm channels that I have been enjoying for years? In Ireland: IFarmWeFarm. In New Zealand: TheOnceADayFarmer. Very different environments, different national laws, different financial needs and constraints -- same fundamentals: support their families by selling fresh milk. You might like these folks as much as I do! Evelyn in Minnesota
