When I was in my mid-teens, ( a longer time ago than I want to admit) I too suffered major depression. I didn't admit even to my therapist I was thinking about how to end it all. I eventually realized, however, that I did have family that loved me. It helped. I stopped the most morbid thoughts. As to side effects of meds for mental health, I was definitely wary of them, but I was fortunate to have a doctor who convinced me to try a low dose, and was willing to back off as he gave me a trial of a medium dose when I started having weird things happen to my vision.
@mandalyn80062 жыл бұрын
Those meds had a devastating effect on my body. I stopped taking them when I started LACTATING! Lol. They don't tell you what side effects can happen. Apparently they are as effective as a placebo. But meds are good for some people. I just can't take things. I have a lot of allergies and that is the cause of any mood problems for me.

Lester, I have battled and survived depression for 2 decades now. I've been to MANY Dr's and once was on so many prescriptions, my purse was my "pill bag". I was "numb" as well. It caused a very ugly and dark time in my life. I made the conscious choice to live life awake and aware instead of having life pass me by while I was zombified. I have found other outlets for my mental health that has seemed to help. I make sure to go to the beach at least once a year (I'm a toes in the sand kinda lady) and I have found kayaking through the pandemic. It's so nice to just get out on the water and just BE. To go out and watch the wildlife and enjoy the mental break from the crazy thoughts. I see a change in you recently that shows that you are finding your peace as well. I know we won't ever be "normal" or "healed" mentally. But, it is great seeing you in a better place. I respect Jake for taking the time that he NEEDS. Maybe he should turn the comments off on his videos for awhile when he returns. It might help, it might not. I don't know what triggered his current bought of mental stuff but I hope he is getting better each day that passes. It was a breath of fresh air to see him working as a team helping you move the longhorns. I do miss him but I totally understand the NEED for a break. Much love and many blessings...

Depression is not something ya can "snap out" of. Like ya said "ya didn't snap into it". It takes time, possibly a lot of time to recover, if ever. Such a great site to see the whole family coming to you in the barn. They seem to be more trusting & loving of you, which indicates they are now content in their new home. We are so blessed to have you & your family in our lives.

Miss Pat was very smart about the apple seeds being toxic. They release a chemical called sionide (may have spelled it wrong) but in an animal the size of those longhorns it would take barrels of apples to cause them any negative effects. Thank you to her for loving our animals as much as we all do. I say our animals because we are all one big extended family. I'm so pleased to see the happiness in the animals especially Tex. When he walked into the stall I shed a tear. He loves his new home and trusts you so much Lester. If he didn't he would have never stepped one hoof in that stall especially after that 10 round event of loading him up into the trailer. 😄

Years ago, I heard of a fellow who poisoned himself on apple seeds. It took a 1/4 cup of dried seeds. He so enjoyed the occasional apple seed, he thought it would be a great treat to save them up and eat all at one sitting

Please tell Jake that He is more important than any video. I was happy to see him in the background of a couple videos. That let me know that he was truly taking care of himself. Love you Jake, Lester, Jamie, and the rest of the family.

Loved seeing Tex and family in the background just relaxing and content. That's a great spot for a gift & goodies video, and what a difference from when you do it in the goat's pasture 😂. What a blessing your neighbors are and it's such a relief to know that they have their eyes on the Longhorns when you're not there.

My Prayers are with Jake. Dealing with some things of my own. No, "snapping out of it" is not the answer, it is much more than that. Thank you, Lester, for explaining this to some folks who needed to hear that. Idle hands, idle mind, great advice. Have health issues, so am unable to stay as busy as I use to when I was physically capable and cleaning was my escape from stress ~! Glad we got to meet your wonderful neighbors. Grandma Pat is so sweet and such a lovely blessing to the babies. I, too, start my day with coffee & watching all the Morrow's videos - Starts my day off so beautifully & helps me to keep my mind busy & escape for a bit. God Bless all.

Love Jake and totally understand what he’s going through. He is a light to us in a world that is so dark! Take your time Jake and be well. We will all be right here for you. I’m 75 with severe back problems and sometimes suffer depression myself so I totally get it. Love you so much, be well snd be happy ❤️
